Today my thoughts and heart are with those who have been affected by the massive fire in Willow, Alaska.
Some friends, acquaintances, comrades in the sled dog world and many, many other people have lost their homes or have been forced to evacuate with no idea if they will have a place to come home to. Homesteads that have been around for the better part of the last century have disappeared along with the forests and history surrounding them. Hearsay reports, although I have yet to confirm them, seem to indicate fireworks were to blame for the start of the blaze.
