Happy birthday to actor William Sylvester!

William was born on January 31st in Oakland, California. He started out on his career in his family's dry cleaning business, but he was not very happy about this life.

Heeding the advice of John Barrymore, a family friend, Sylvester spent 3-5 years in the merchant Navy to raise the necessary funds to needed to study at the RADA.

You might've seen him in 2001: A Space Odyssey as Dr. Heywood Floyd and in GORGO as Sam Slade.
