Lighting up the dark edge of trees and shrubs and surrounding this Salix (willow) play den is Digitalis purpurea f. albiflora (white-flowered foxglove). This biennial or short-lived perennial has one-sided spires of pendant, tubular, creamy-white flowers. The plants thrive in humus-rich soil in partial shade but they will grow in full sun.
