Chemical Properties of Polyester
Chemical Properties: Polyester converters use polyesters to make suits, since before polyester clothes are in fashion and it is also used to make ropes. Pet film bottles are one of the most popular uses of polyester. Polyester is easily cared, it is extremely strong and it is both saturated and also unsaturated. Talking about unsaturated polyesters, the backbone consists of alkyl thermosetting resins, they are mostly used in rein forced plastics and are the most widely used and economical family of resins. Polyesters have both physical and chemical properties. The chemical properties of polyesters are that when it is cold it is good resistance to acids as well as basics but hydrogen sulphate and Sodium degrades it on boiling. It is not affected by bleaching process and organic solvents are not affected on it.
Physical Properties: As pet film is an excellent barriers material, polyester converters have made plastic bottles from it and it is widely used in making soft drinks. Some of the physical properties of PET are that it is a colorless, semi crystalline resin, it has an intrinsic viscosity. All the material made from PET can be easily recycled.
Synthetic Polymer: Talking about polyester it is a synthetic polymer and its raw materials are purified terephthalic acid, dimethyl terephthalate, mono ethylene glycol and antimony trioxide. Polyester has its importance as well its raw materials are easily available, the chemical process of polyester synthesis is easy to understand, all the raw materials have low toxicity, it can be easily recycled, it has outstanding mechanical and chemical properties, a wide variety of products can be made from it. Manufacturing of polyester is done in three steps: first of all acid and alcohol reacts in a vacuum at a high temperature, secondly the materials are placed onto a casting trough when it is cooled, after it is hardened it is cut into chips.
