i love window swap. i see a guy's apartment in canada with his cat on the window sill and the outside entrenched in show. i see a street view of taiwan facing downwards like i'm a bird. there's four people on the street chatting animatedly. there's a guy showing the window of his truck as he moves through a mountain range in nepal. you can hear him talking with his friends in the background. there's a view of a window thirty minutes from my house just recording cool birds. it's called birds skillfull flight. there's a window in argentina where you can also see a multi shelf dvd collection and smooth jazz is playing. a view out into a walled off schoolyard in belgium where you can occasionally see a ball kicked high over the wall. a guy in norway on a tram has recorded the window view of the route and uploaded it. his name is tim on tram thirty. a guy in minas gerais has just recorded a park. there's a toddler banging a waterbottle on a tree in the background while his mom chastises him. it's all so. the world is so big. the world is so small.
Another website I think is cool is WindowSwap.com
People upload videos of their windows from all around the world! You can see people walking their pets, hear the uploader cooking in the distance, or maybe even catch some animals at a bird feeder.
It's an overall beautiful glimpse into humanity, and I highly recommend it.
Open a new window somewhere in the world
Iāve seen a few people talking about this, but it feels like it hasnāt really been embraced by Tumblr yet, which is a shame because I feel like everyone should know about it!
This website is literally just videos people took looking out their windows.Ā For as long as you like you can sit and watch someone elseās view.Ā You can also take your own video and submit it if you like!
There is something seriously calming about the whole thing.
The windows are random so you can just keep hitting the button until you find one you like, but honestly, I havenāt seen any ābadā windows or even any boring ones.Ā There is always something interesting to focus on.
When Iām working on my computer, I tend to have a windowswap tab open that I can switch over to when I need a break, or need to refocus or just breathe a moment.
Here are some I saw today:
San Fransisco
Singapore
Russia
UK (with bonus sheep!)
Anyway, I highly recommend it!Ā You can make a free account if you want to keep track of your fav windows, or you can just pop on and see what you see like I do!
on the wonderful site that is window-swap, you might just find yourself at Mag's window in Winnetka, Illinois where a racoon is taking a nap in a tree

Window Swap, a website that lets you gaze out of other peopleās windows all over the world, is one way to get the feel of travel without actually traveling.Ā
Windows appear from all corners of the world, including places around the U.S., in India, in France, in Japan, and everywhere in between. Some windows are especially beautiful, with views of city skylines, pristine lakes, or lovely countrysides. Others are fairly ordinary, with views of peopleās plant-filled porches, outdoor construction, or suburban neighborhoods. You might even see a personās pet in the video, which is always delightful.

These are just a handful of the 10 minute videos of views--and sounds--out other peopleās windows around the world right now. MINI VACATION, IT IS GIVING ME LIFE
apologies for the lack of animated gifs. worth checking out the real thing though: https://window-swap.com/
And theyāre accepting submissions.
WindowSwap?
Let's face it. We are all stuck indoors. And it's going to be a while till we travel again. Window Swap is here to fill that deep void in our wanderlust hearts by allowing us to look through someone else's window, somewhere in the world, for a while. A place on the internet where all we travel hungry fools share our 'window views' to help each other feel a little bit better till we can (responsibly) explore our beautiful planet again.
Quarantine project by Sonali Ranjit and Vaishnav Balasubramaniam. Shoutout to Antara Aneja for her help, Maryam Touimi Benjelloun for the code, and to all our wonderful friends who sent us their views.
