i don’t know where other people watch. it’s on the cw every thursday night, iirc. i heard it’s on netflix in europe. this has a link where one can stream, but it won’t open for me. (probs bc i’m not in the us?)

it’s a very, very loose adaptation. probably the only things they adapted are the names and the basic outline of the characters. the characters have more depth and are more complex, more human than their comic counterparts. (eg, betty cooper is the perfect girl-next-door in the digests, in the show she’s riddled with anxiety, etc) i guess one glaring difference is that this adaptation doesn’t pit women against each other, especially when its source material is centered on a love triangle, hah! there were traces of it but it’s resolved quickly. oh, and the adults are unreliable... to say the least.

how i feel about it? that it was initially pitched as “Teen Peaks” certainly piqued my interest but i hesitated due to the cw’s uh, reputation. but i’m enjoying it??? so far??? it’s still a teen drama at its core but it’s self-reflexive, haha! (”is cheerleading still a thing?” “is being a gay best friend still a thing?”) it also has imo effective attempts to genre bend which is nice. 

ALSO also for me personally, it’s nice to see an old br/otp’s relationship explored in... ways it hasn’t before. so there’s that.

Now this assemble is mostly from the windsilk set, except for the Thavnairan Gloves and the Boots which was from the Far Eastern Martriach set. 

It looks sporty and casual enough that I like to wear it from time to time, especially when I’m on the red mage.
