Luxury Logico Windy Field 2 (2025)
installed: MoCA Taipei
We often ask ourselves: as nature gradually disappears, how will humanity remember it? Windy Field is an artificial wind simulation installation that originates from Chen Yi’s Duplication of Nature project, which proposes a future where nature is absent due to advanced technological progress. Through technological methods, we aim to capture, learn about, and represent nature. Choosing “wind” as an entry point, we collect data on its volume, direction, and sound, training AI to learn and generate models before transforming them into movement and flickering lights through a mechanical installation. These slender light-emitting units are not moved by the wind but embody its shadow, similar to how plants or water surfaces shimmer when stirred by a breeze. Windy Field II, the version of 2025, is designed to stand upright and creating a look similar to a denser artificial wind forest that quietly breathes in the gallery room. text: MoCA
