The Mysterious Library was oddly silent that day. Save for the screeching of the paper on which Yayoi and Candy were drawing, and the occasional frustrated wailing noise Akane let out while Reika was kicking her butt at a video game, no sounds came to disrupt the silence of the Smile Precures’ clubhouse.
Miyuki was looking through the window. She wondered when exactly the one of them who had been gone for days was going to return. Nanairogaoka's girls’ soccer team had been selected for a very important competition at the other side of the country. So, lately, the group had been lacking Nao.
Somehow, it just didn’t feel right, for just the four of them to be here. The first week went fine. The second week, it started to feel odd. The thrid week, the hole left by her absence was so obvious it was almost painful.
But just as Miyuki thought about that, the familiar sound of the Book Gate opening echoed through the room, and the missing friend just stepped into the small house.
“Hi guys! Missed me?"
And that was all it took for Reika, Akane, Yayoi, Candy and Miyuki to stop what they were doing and rush toward the shelves. Miyuki, the one closest to Nao, jumped into her arms and held her friend into a tight embrace.
“Welcome back, Nao!“ She left a quick peck on Nao’s cheek, before the other girls and the fairy joined them into one big hug mural.
