THEY’RE MY BROTHERS! – hughes sister!reader x hughes brothers
word count: 1.5k
Getting a baby sister years younger than them was a terrifying thought.
Quinn, Jack, and Luke could barely wrap their heads around the idea when their parents first broke the news.
In the beginning, they had thought their mom was joking.
Another baby?…Oh, please!
They were already a full hockey household, with sticks scattered everywhere, skates drying outside, gear bags thrown recklessly, and a constant battle over mini sticks in the basement.
Where on earth could a baby slot into all of that?
A baby.
And a girl one at that!
After years of it just being the three of them, the thought of a little sister running around was almost too much to process.
"She's gonna be, like, a baby baby," Eight year old Jack had said, staring at the black and white ultrasound photo.
Six year old Luke wasn't any better.
"Babies poop," He had shrivelled his nose up. "I don't want to touch poop."
Quinn, the oldest at ten and allegedly the most responsible, had looked paler than usual, eyes wide as he traced the black and white ultrasound with his eyes.
"I think we might have to," he gulped, looking up at his brothers.
Jack gagged.
By the time you were born, all three were fully convinced this was going to be a disaster.
At first, they didn't really know what to do with you.
You were so tiny, so breakable.
Quinn remembers his dad joking that if they could handle slap shots and bruises from the ice they could handle a baby...but Quinn had never seen something so delicate before, and Jack refused to go near you, terrified he'd somehow hurt you.
Luke, despite being the youngest, was the bravest, sitting up on the hospital bed beside Ellen, poking at your chubby cheeks and making faces until you let out a high pitched giggled.
When their mom had gently handed you to Quinn in the hospital, everything instantly changed. You were so fragile and small compared to him, wrapped up in the softest pink blanket known to man.
Quinn's hand lifted to shift the blanket out of your face but when he went to draw his hand away, your little fingers curled around his like you already knew he was your big brother.
From that very second, Quinn knew that you would have them wrapped around your little finger.
☆
Quicker than anyone could comprehend, you became the centre of the Hughes family universe.
Quinn, from that moment in the hospital, became your biggest protector. He was the one holding your hand when you went for your first skate- glaring at anyone who skated too closely to you, he had taught you to tie your shoelaces and had pushed your bike along as you tried to learn how to ride it. He watched you like a hawk at the playground, and later, made it his mission to screen every newly found friend with the seriousness of an NHL scout looking for a team’s saviour.
Jack was your perfect partner-in-crime. From the moment you could communicate, he had you giggling with his antics, teaching you ridiculous and harmless pranks and sneaking you small pieces of candy before dinner.
To you, he was forever the fun one, the one who would let you paint his nails, do his makeup up and dress him up in tiaras just to hear your sweet laughter. Yeah, these antics earned chirps when his friends came over and saw the photos but Jack beamed with pride. You were his sister and any measure of time with you was valuable, he'd welcome the chirps any day.
If Quinn was your protector and Jack was your chaos buddy, Luke was undoubtedly your best friend.
He let you climb his back like a monkey, and sat with you for hours talking and watching whatever cartoon you were obsessed with. He was the one you'd turn to when things didn't go quite right and then you'd work together on creating a plan to tell your parents or brothers.
Luke was the one who teased you relentlessly and playfully mocked you, but god forbid anybody else do the same.
When he'd heard one of the boys on his peewee team call you a little crybaby after you'd fallen and hurt yourself, Luke lashed out, punching the boy so hard his knuckles had split.
That was the last time anyone said anything remotely negative about you to him.
As the years passed, their once-terrifying little sister became their entire world.
You were their shadow, trailing after them in oversized jerseys, tousled hair and a toothy grin.
You had learned how to skate before you could tie your own shoes, thanks to lessons from all three of them. Quinn taught you how to keep your knees bent, Jack made sure you had the best moves and Luke....well, Luke mostly just let you win races across the ice.
Despite the age gap, you had them all tightly held in your tiny fist.
You had a unique way of making even the most serious moments ridiculous, lightening up the harsh and making everything seem alright.
This manifested in various ways such as the time a very stressed Quinn had been deep in a post-game analysis for quite possibly the worst game he ever played, only for you to hop on his back and demand a piggyback ride, refusing to leave your brother alone until he laughed and agreed.
Or when Jack had been in a slump, and you'd crawled onto the couch beside him, handing him one of your stuffed animals (matted and tearing, yet stuffed with love), declaring it was a 'good luck charm.'
He scored twice the next game and refused to go anywhere without it for a month.
By the time you were old enough to actually understand hockey fully, you became their biggest fan and their biggest critic.
"Jack, you were bad last night," your nine year old self had commented bluntly over breakfast, sipping your juice and swinging your legs under the table.
"Jeez, thanks," seventeen year old Jack had groaned in response, shoving a piece of toast in his mouth and gently kicking you beneath the table.
"You turned the puck over like a bajillion, million times."
Luke laughed while Quinn smirked into his smoothie.
"She's not wrong," the eldest at nineteen added, "good job, sprout, you tell him."
Quinn was met with your beaming, gap-toothed smile.
But for all the teasing, no one was more fiercely protective than your brothers.
The first time you mentioned a boy from school during the summer when you were fourteen, the house nearly imploded. Quinn sat up straighter, Jack immediately interrogated you, and Luke just shook his head in denial.
"You're not dating until you're thirty," Jack declared, placing down his controller to lightly hold your cheeks.
"You guys are being drama queens," you whined, lip jutting out.
"No, we're responsible older brothers," Luke, very matter-of-factly put, puffing out his chest but not before sticking his tongue out at you.
"Quinnnnnnn!" You huffed, slumping back against your eldest brother, who immediately welcomed you into his chest.
"They're right, I'm afraid," he lowly chuckled, "no dating for you until you're older."
You reached up and flicked his forehead, jumping up to avoid his hands that reached to grab you and lock you in a chokehold.
Despite their antics, there was never a moment where you doubted how much they loved you.
No matter how busy their schedules got, they always found ways to remind you that you were their baby sister before anything else. They texted you on the daily with Quinn ensuring to call you every evening, ranging from two minutes to two hours simply catching up with you and listening to everything that you did that day.
Those phone calls were things you cherished because no matter how awful the day was, you knew that Quinn would be there at the end of it to listen and help you, from the most frivolous of issues to the most gut-wrenching ones.
You didn't think anyone could possibly be more supportive of you and more caring than your brothers.
Surprise takeaways delivered to your dorm the night before big tests were frequent because your brothers knew you found it hard to relegate time to eat when you were focused.
Random emails showing up in your inbox, containing return plane tickets to come visit them during the season just so they could get to see you.
Signed jerseys from random players you'd mentioned in passing, just because they could!
They took care of you as much as possible despite the distance, trying to extend their love as far as it could go.
And when they couldn't be there in person, they made sure you knew that they wished they were.
Even when you rolled your eyes at their constant jokes, even when they embarrassed you in front of everyone (even players you'd admired on and off the ice) with their stories, even when Jack constantly stole your fries and food, even when Luke used your head as an armrest, and even when Quinn gave you that older brother look that said he knew better like he could see right through you, even when you insisted you were fine.
Even when they teased, and pushed your buttons and acted like overgrown kids themselves…none of it truly annoyed you because, at the end of the day, you knew you'd always have them.
They were the ones who cheered the loudest, who showed up when it mattered (no matter how busy their lives got), the ones who loved without a doubt, the ones who would drop everything if you needed help and the ones who hugged you a bit longer every time they saw you because you were growing up far too quickly for their liking.
No matter where life took them, no matter how far away they were, no matter how many years would pass, you'd always be their little sister.
Luke blurb if possible on drunk clingy luke in the summer at the lake house and quinn and jack are trying to pass him off to you but he keeps saying “i have a girlfriend who i love very much she would not like this” just trying to get him to remember reader is his girlfriend
THIS IS SO COOL! — luke hughes x gf!reader
Michigan summer nights had turned into your favourite kind of nights— nights like this one in particular.
The air was thickened with humidity as the lake house buzzed with people, laughter and music, a classic Hughes summer gathering in full swing. You had spent the evening barefoot on the dock, beer in hand, watching the boys act like kids again with Jack and Quinn threatening to push Luke into the lake, and Luke yelling something about how unfair it all was before inevitably getting tossed in.
Now, as the night stretched on and the drinks kept flowing, the inevitable happened…Luke got drunk.
Not just tipsy, not just a little loose-limbed but rather full-on, clingy, affectionate, hopelessly drunk.
And the only problem?
He was in that phase of intoxication where he claimed he could barely recognise faces, and could often not recognise that you were his girlfriend.
"y/n," Jack groaned as he half-carried, half-dragged his younger brother toward you. "Take him, please, I can’t handle another second of it."
Luke whined dramatically, his head lolling onto Jack’s shoulder as he clung to his brother like a koala.
"Nooo, I have a girlfriend," he slurred, turning his face into Jack’s hoodie as if shielding himself but you couldn’t help but think he looked adorable. "I love her soooo much and she wouldn’t like this."
"Luke," you tried, stepping closer, a small smile slipping across your face. "I am your girlfriend."
Luke peeked at you through glassy eyes, then gasped like you had just told him the biggest, most juiciest secret in the world.
"No way," he whispered, glancing between you and his brothers with widened eyes.
Jack snorted. Quinn, standing a few feet away with a beer in hand, just shook his head.
"Typical," Quinn muttered in amusement, turning toward the house, leaving you and Jack to deal with the mess that was Luke. “Good luck, y/n!”
"Well…He's your problem now,” Jack spoke as he shoved Luke in your direction. Luke stumbled but caught himself, blinking at you with a dopey, lovesick smile, one you couldn’t help but reciprocate.
“Wait… you look just like my girlfriend," he marveled, reaching out to cup your face like he needed to confirm you were real. His fingers traced your every feature as you stifled your laughter.
“Luke, honey…I am your girlfriend,” You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help but let your smile widen.
His brows furrowed in deep concentration, as if this was the most complicated math problem he had ever encountered. Then, suddenly, his face lit up.
"But you’re so pretty," He practically tackled you in a hug, wrapping his arms around you and squeezing tight. “This is so COOL!”
“Yeah, really cool, Lukey,” You laughed, hugging him back despite his damp clothes and beer-scented breath.
"Okay, yeah, now I’m out,” Jack groaned in disgust, you glanced towards the man, completely forgetting he was still lingering nearby. “Have fun with that."
As Jack disappeared inside, Luke kept you locked in his arms, his chin resting on your shoulder.
"I love you so so much," he mumbled.
"I know," you softly teased, your fingers combing through his frazzled curls. "Maybe next time you’ll remember that before refusing to let me take care of you."
"I would never cheat on my girlfriend,” He pulled back just enough to look at you, eyes wide and serious.
"Luke—" You sighed, shaking your head before he cut you off.
"Because I love her so much," he emphasised, poking your cheek.
"Yeah, yeah," you sighed, but you couldn’t help but smile again.
Drunk, ridiculous, clingy Luke might’ve been a handful, but at least he was your handful.

1.
A shiver of goosebumps shaded your bare body as you stepped into the running shower. It was an early morning start for you and the birds were only beginning to sing as the sun rose over frosty New Jersey.
You'd silently dragged yourself from the comfort of your bed, leaving behind your sleeping boyfriend, who'd insisted that you should wake him up once you had to get up and ready.
You'd ignored his request.
But it truly wasn't your fault!
Luke had just looked so incredibly soft when he slept, with his eyelashes gently fanning across the peaks of his cheeks and his curls askew and tangled. His lips slightly parted and his arms thrown around your body to hold you as close to him as possible.
How could you ever disturb such an image of peace?
You stepped under the warmth of the running water, letting the hot water cascade down your back, soothing the chill that had settled in your bones from the early morning air. Your muscles relaxed further as steam filled the shower, and for a moment, you allowed yourself to get lost in the quiet.
Until you heard the shower door creak open.
You stretched a slow smirk across your lips, but you didn't turn around. Instead, you opted to listen as heavy footfalls, the sound of clothes being shed, and the sound of the shower door being pulled open resounded around the bathroom.
You felt another warm sensation radiating just behind you, the distinct scent of sleep-warmed skin and something so inherently Luke, completely unmistakable.
You ignored me," his voice was rough with sleep, thick with that raspy morning edge that sent a shiver, one definitely not caused by the temperature this time, down your spine.
You felt him press against you, bare and warm and unmistakably solid. His presence filled the small space immediately, surrounding you, overwhelming you, just the way you adored.
"I was trying to be nice," you murmured, reaching for the soap with steady hands, even as your heart betrayed you with a traitorous little stutter. "You looked too peaceful to wake up."
"That's not your call to make, sweet girl," Luke hummed, low and unimpressed.
Before you could protest, he was taking the soap from your hands, turning you effortlessly to face him.
Water ran in rivulets down the sharp angles of his jaw, dripping from the ends of his dark curls. His eyes were sharp despite their drowsy haze as they searched yours, lathering his hands before trailing them over your shoulders, down your arms, slow and deliberate.
"I like waking up with you," he continued, almost idly, as if his being with you wasn't currently rendering you incapable of forming coherent thoughts. "Not reaching for you and finding the bed cold."
"Luke..."
He cut you off with a lazy, knowing chuckle, his grip tightening just slightly. Not enough to restrain, but enough to remind you that he could.
"No, no, you lost your chance to say my name all soft like that when you decided to leave me behind." His lips brushed against your ear as he spoke, the teasing edge in his tone making your stomach flip. "Now I get to make the rules."
His lips brushed over the shell of your ear causing your breath to hitch, but you didn't protest. You wouldn't protest. Luke wasn't the type to demand or take—no, that wasn't his style at all. He was the type to command, to nudge you into submission with a mix of playfulness and subtle dominance that left you utterly dizzy and cloudy-minded.
And he knew exactly what he was doing.
"You're lucky I'm not dragging you over my knee," Luke mused, his fingers tracing lazy patterns along your ribs, down your stomach, making you squirm under his touch. "But we both know that wouldn't be much of a punishment for you, would it?"
You gulped but instinctively leaned into him, craving more and more of his familiar touch. Luke let out a deep laugh, pressing an open-mouthed kiss to the curve of your shoulder.
"Hm," he murmured against your skin.
Luke's hands were slow, too slow, as they slid up your sides, spreading warm, and slick suds over your skin. His fingers traced teasing circles, just barely skimming the places you wanted him to linger.
Your mouth remained agape as your breathing deepened, relishing the control Luke had.
"You're quiet," he murmured, his voice thick with amusement. "Not gonna complain?"
"Luke, please," You whined, trying to twist away from his maddeningly gentle touch, but he only tightened his grip, holding you firmly in place.
"Hmm, what?" He played dumb, dragging his soapy hands down the length of your arms before moving back up to your shoulders, massaging the tension from them like he had all the time in the world.
"You know what."
Luke smirked against the back of your neck, placing a lingering kiss there before pulling back just enough to continue his torturously slow work. His fingers slid down your spine, tracing the curve of your back with feigned innocence.
"I'm just helping," he simpered, voice dripping with false sincerity. "You were the one who decided to shower alone, so now I have to make sure you do it right."
You let out a frustrated breath, but the heat pooling in your stomach betrayed you. Luke knew what he was doing, he was making you wait, making you want without giving you exactly what you needed.
His hands finally smoothed down over your stomach, slipping across your hips, his fingertips grazing just shy of where you wanted them. He chuckled when you instinctively arched into him.
"So needy," he mused, his lips ghosting over your ear.
A stuttered breath rattled through your lungs as his lithe fingers slipped down towards your heated core. Your head fell back onto Luke's chest as he barely avoided brushing over your sensitive bud, causing your back to arch and soft moans to escape your parted lips.
All words dissolved on your tongue as he ran his fingers through the wetness that pooled, teasing your fluttering hole before pressing deep inside of you while his lips dropped to press chaste kisses along the arch of your neck.
Luke hummed against your skin, clearly pleased with himself as your resolve crumbled with a plethora of squeaks and moans.
"See, this is what happens when you don't listen," Luke's voice was low, edged with something dark and teasing, his words drawn out like he was savouring the moment. "Could be getting my cock, but you just had to ignore what I told you."
He had you exactly where he wanted you, melting under his touch, trembling from the slow, torturous buildup.
"You gonna ignore me again, baby?" he asked, his lips brushing just beneath your ear, making you shiver. His fingers kept moving, grazing, teasing, keeping you right on the edge but never quite giving you enough.
You let out a small, desperate whimper, hips bucking against his hand, but Luke only tightened his grip on your hip, holding you still.
"N-No," you breathed out, barely able to get the words out.
"No, what?" His voice was a lazy drawl, but the steel in his grip made it clear he was waiting for the right answer.
"No, I won't ignore you again."
"Good," Luke smirked against your skin, his fingers finally pressing just a little firmer before withdrawing completely.
Luke chuckled darkly at the whimper that escaped your lips, his grip still firm on your hip as you writhed against him, seeking any kind of relief.
But none came...not yet.
He lifted his fingers, placing them inside your parted mouth, the taste of your own desire flooding your mouth.
"Aw, poor baby," he murmured, his hand on your waist sliding up your body, fingers tracing the damp skin of your throat before tilting your chin just enough for you to meet his gaze. His hazel eyes were sharp, filled with amusement and that certain look that made your stomach tighten. "Bet you regret sneaking off now, huh?"
You swallowed hard, nodding slightly, knowing exactly what he wanted to hear but unable to force the words out beyond the fingers in your mouth.
Luke smirked, thumb swiping slowly across your bottom lip as he pulled his fingers away, his touch deceptively soft.
"C'mon now, use your words," he coaxed, voice steady, calm as if he wasn't the reason you were already falling apart.
"I—I regret it," you admitted breathlessly, eyes wide and pleading.
"Good girl."
And then, just as effortlessly as he'd pulled away, he gave you exactly what you needed—his fingers returning to your core, stroking, teasing, pressing, until the tension inside you snapped entirely and you were left shaking against him, gasping his name like some twisted prayer.
Luke held you through it, pressing slow kisses to your shoulder, murmuring quiet praises against your damp skin.
"Next time," he spoke, his voice low as you came to. "You wake me up."
And this time, you had no plans to argue.
2.
You felt miserable.
Your head was pounding, your body ached, and your throat felt like sandpaper. You had curled up on the couch in one of Luke's hoodies, surrounded by a pile of blankets, tissues, and the remote you were far too exhausted to use.
Luke had been on a two-day roadie when you first started feeling sick, and you had stubbornly told him over text that you were "fine"—which clearly hadn't fooled him as he door-dashed you endless comfort foods so that you didn't have to cook a single thing.
The second he got home, he took one look at you and let out a dramatic sigh.
"You are the worst patient," Luke muttered, setting his bag down as he made his way towards the living room, pressing a quick kiss to your clammy forehead.
You groaned and yanked the blanket over your face, letting the darkness overwhelm you.
You could hear cabinets opening and closing, the hum of the microwave, and the sound of him filling a glass of water as his footsteps pattered around. A few minutes later, you felt him return to your side, gently peeling away your makeshift cover.
He was kneeling beside the couch, a bowl of soup in one hand as the other ran over your tangled hair.
"Come on," he started, his voice softer now. "Sit up f'me."
"Don't wanna," You protested, your head shaking as you burrowed deeper into the blankets.
You expected Luke to let out a short laugh but instead, his eyebrows furrowed as he set the bowl down and shifted closer, brushing a hand over your forehead. His fingers were cold against your feverish skin, earning you a deep frown.
"You're burning up, pretty girl," he murmured, fingers lingering as you leaned into his touch
"Yeah," you mumble tiredly. "Figured."
"You take anything for it yet?" His hand slides down to cup your cheek, his thumb stroking gently.
You hesitated, which is enough of an answer.
He sighed again, but it wasn't an annoyed sigh, more so the kind of sigh that screamed he was already making a plan to fix things.
"Alright," he began, sitting back on his haunches. "Here's what's gonna happen, you're gonna sit up, drink some water, eat at least a little of this soup, and then I'm making you take some medicine. No arguing."
His voice was firm, but his other hand was already slipping under your shoulders, helping you to shift so that he could sit on the couch and move you across his lap.
You didn't fight him, welcoming his warm grip. You were too tired, and honestly, being taken care of like this felt kind of nice. You let your head rest against his shoulder as he pressed the glass of water to your lips.
"See?" he murmured, pressing a chaste kiss on the shell of your ear. "Not so bad, what did I say, hm?"
You grumbled something unintelligible, but he just chuckled, shifting to grab the bowl again.
"I'm not helpless," You blurted out suddenly, eyes rolling as a pout formed across your face.
"I know, pretty girl, but letting me help isn't always a bad thing," he smirked and it was that damned Luke Hughes smirk that melted you every time. "And I'm here now, so please let me."
Luke doesn't give you a chance to argue. He tilted the glass against your lips once more, his hand cradling the back of your head as he watched you with those knowing eyes, letting them trace over every detail of your face.
"Good girl," he murmured as you swallowed the cool water, his thumb absentmindedly stroking your jaw before setting the glass aside. "Now, let's get some food in you."
You huff, but when he brought the spoon to your lips, you couldn't resist. The warmth of the soup soothed your throat instantaneously, causing you to let out the smallest of sighs, your body's tension lessening.
"There we go," Luke murmured approvingly, feeding you another bite. "That's my girl."
The praise caused your stomach to flutter and your core to clench despite the fever. Luke smirked and you couldn't help but wonder if he could sense your every thought as he shifted slightly, to adjust his grip on you, his large hands easily supporting your weight to keep you snug in his lap.
"You like when I take care of you, don't know why you fight it," he mused as his voice dropped just a little. You let out a small noise in protest, but he tilted your chin up, sharp eyes meeting your cloudy gaze. "Don't even try denying it."
"I just don't wanna be a burden," You glare halfheartedly, but as soon as the words escaped your lips you knew they were the wrong ones to slip.
Luke's jaw tightened, and before you could blink, his fingers pressed against your throat—lightly, yet just enough to remind you who was in control. His touch lingered over the column of your neck, protective but firm, delicately letting his warm digits spread across your jugular like a predator marking his prey.
"That's the dumbest thing you've said all year," he finally muttered, bending his neck to let his nose brush against yours. You let out a small whine, the breath hitching in your throat. "You could be sick for a month, and I wouldn't get tired of taking care of you...got it?"
"Got it," You swallowed, heat rushing to your cheeks as his eyes bore into yours.
"Good," His grip softened, fingertips tracing gently down your jawline before his hand settled on your waist once again. "Now, one more spoonful."
You rolled your eyes but obediently opened your mouth, while Luke chuckled and fed you another spoon.
Luke set the soup aside and pulled you closer, wrapping you up entirely in his warmth. His lips ghosted over your forehead again before resting there, his arms holding you securely against him.
He was your own personal weighted blanket, he always had been. You liked the feeling of his weight pressed flush into you, eradicating any negative feelings or nasty thoughts. It was comforting and something Luke loved to indulge in.
"See? Now, you can just relax," he murmured against your skin. "You don't have to do anything, pretty girl, just let me take care of you."
You sighed, finally letting yourself fully sink into him, the steady rhythm of his heartbeat against your ear lulling you into something peaceful.
"That's better," Luke hummed, fingers caressing over your hair. "Took you long enough."
You barely had the energy to swat at his chest before exhaustion won out, your body recognising his familiar hold and weight, the comfort too much to resist.
3.
"Luke, c'mon, I have to get dressed!"
You lounged back onto the plush blankets of the bed as you watched Luke rifle through your drawer filled to the brim with underwear.
Luke, so you learned, had a thing for choosing your underwear for the day. It had started a few months into dating and you quite liked it, you liked the idea of him having that kind of control.
Luke hummed as he sifted through the neatly folded lace and cotton, taking his sweet time while you sat there, legs crossed, wrapped in nothing but a towel. You were supposed to be getting dressed, but Luke had decided otherwise.
"You're so impatient," he mused, pulling out a white, delicate lace set—garter and all, holding it up to the light like he was considering it.
"I wouldn't have to be if you actually picked something," You huffed, shifting on the bed as your eyebrows furrowed.
"Oh?" Luke turned, one brow raised, amusement flickering across his sharp features. "You think you get a say in this?"
Your stomach flipped at his low and lazy tone edged with just enough authority to make your breath hitch deep in your throat.
"You know the rules, pretty girl," Luke smirked, clearly noticing your reaction. "If you're gonna let me choose, you wait until I'm done."
You swallowed, biting your lip as you nodded, watching as he sifted through the piles before finally landing on a black, lacy soft set that he knew you liked.
Your thighs instinctively pressed together when he turned around, the underwear and bra in hand, his curls falling over his forehead.
"Stand up for me, pretty girl," Luke smoothly spoke, placing the bra on the end but the underwear firm in his grip.
You obeyed without thinking, heat curling in your stomach as he stepped into your space, his fingers grazing over your hips. His grip was teasing yet firm as he trailed his hands down your sides.
"Arms up," Luke instructed, his voice soft as you obliged.
You lifted your arms, letting him slide your oversized sleep shirt (that had once been his!) over your head, leaving you completely bare in front of him.
His eyes darkened slightly as he drank you in, his lips quirking upwards in approval.
Then, without a word, he knelt in front of your standing body, fingers hooking around your ankles as he guided the underwear up your legs, his movements careful and gentle.
Once Luke reached your hips, he tugged the fabric into place, his fingers lingering over your skin as his thumbs brushed over your hipbones before he looked up at you, a lazy smirk playing at the corners of his lips.
"There," he murmured, giving the waistband one last snap against your skin. "Now you can get dressed."
You swallowed hard, your breath uneven as he stood back up to his full height, his towering presence making your knees weak.
Luke leaned down, pressing a slow, lingering kiss just below your ear.
"I'll go make breakfast, pretty girl, what are you feeling?"
Your cheeks were heated as his eyes softened, the switch from casual controlling to caring making your head fuzzy. Luke liked to make you breakfast in the morning before you went to work, it always made him feel better knowing you had eaten and who was he to say no to 20-30 minutes of one-on-one time with you?
"Pancakes?" You asked, lips curling into a smile as Luke rolled his eyes knowingly.
You let a shattered gasp escape your throat as he moved past you, his hand briefly swatting your ass, causing your eyes to shoot up to meet his mischievous ones.
"As you wish, sweet girl"
4.
You didn't hear Luke enter the apartment.
Your mind was too loud, thoughts crashing into each other in a never-ending spiral, each one pulling you further under the tumultuous tide. You sat stiffly on the couch, hands clenched in your lap, jaw tight, eyes focused on the nothingness ahead of you.
It felt like you were drowning, but there was no water, just a crippling weight pressing down on your chest, making it impossible to breathe. Like some unknown force was condemning you with the punishment of Atlas– cursed to hold the world and its weight.
The sound of Luke's keys dropping onto the counter barely registered but when his voice filled the space, so warm and familiar, starting to yap about practice, something inside of you cracked.
"Hey, pretty girl," Luke called, his voice carrying through the apartment. You could hear him kicking off his shoes, moving around like normal, but the second he got close enough to see you, he stopped.
There was a beat of silence.
Then, slower, softer, more focused, you heard him speak again.
"Baby?"
You squeezed your eyes shut, willing yourself to snap out of it but you just couldn't. You were stuck in your own head, hands shaking in your lap, body tense like a wound-up spring waiting to pop.
Luke didn't hesitate for a second.
You felt him approach before you saw him, his heavy presence entering your bubble and causing your stomach to tighten. A moment later, he was standing right in front of you, his tall frame casting a shadow over where you sat.
"Look at me," he ordered, his voice quiet yet firm.
You faltered, but when you didn't move fast enough, his fingers hooked under your chin, tilting your face up toward his. Luke's brows were drawn together, his sharp eyes scanning every inch of your expression, taking in the glassy sheen in your eyes and the tightness in your jaw.
"Oh, my sweet girl," he muttered, more to himself than to you as his thumb brushed over your chin. "Talk to me."
"I—" Your voice cracked, and suddenly, your throat felt too tight to speak. Your hands clenched into fists, frustration bubbling up in your chest, you didn't want to feel like this.
Luke exhaled through his nose, his jaw flexing like he was already making a decision.
Then, before you could react, he stepped back and sat down heavily on the couch beside you. His legs spread slightly, his hands resting on his thighs as he looked at you with quiet expectation.
"Come here," he instructed, patting the empty space between his knees.
You blinked up at him, chest rising and falling unevenly as you didn't move a muscle.
"Now, baby," he added, his voice dropping just enough to send a quick shiver down your spine.
Something in his tone cut through the chatter and noise in your head and you could begin to think twice, you moved and slipped off the couch.
You sank onto your knees between his legs, your hands resting hesitantly on his thighs.
Luke made a low, approving noise in the back of his throat, his large hands immediately coming up to cup your face. His thumbs stroked over your cheeks, grounding you, forcing your focus onto him.
"Good girl," he murmured. The praise sent a different kind of warmth through your body, one that tangled and combatted with the anxiety still buzzing furiously in your chest.
You sucked in a sharp breath, staring up at him, your lips parting slightly.
"I—I don't know what's wrong," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper but the lost look in your eyes caused Luke's heart to splinter.
Luke pulled himself together and nodded slowly, his fingers tracing along your jaw.
"That's okay," he murmured, eyes locked on yours. "You don't have to figure it out right now."
You swallowed hard, head leaning slightly to the left to rest on his thigh. Your hands curled into the fabric of his sweatpants, trying to engulf yourself in his solid presence.
"You don't have to do this alone," he continued, his fingers trailing down your neck, over your pulse point. "You're mine, yeah?...and that means it's my responsibility to take care of you, always."
"It's silly—"
"Not to me."
Your eyes fluttered shut for a second at Luke's statement, his words embedding themselves into your bones.
"Take a deep breath f'me," he softly spoke, hand gently lifting to rest atop your head.
You listened, inhaling as slowly and as deeply as possible. Luke mirrored it, his own breathing slow and steady, letting you match him. He found that letting you mimic his breathing helped the best — you always tended to naturally fall into the rhythm.
"There we go," he murmured, as his thumbs brushed along your skin again, coaxing you back down from the dangerous edge your mind was driving you towards. "You're okay."
The tightness in your chest eased, just slightly.
Enough for you to exhale without it feeling like you were collapsing in on yourself. Your body softened under his touch, tension melting out of your shoulders as you let yourself just exist, kneeling between his legs and held in place by his steady hands.
Luke leaned in, pressing a slow, lingering kiss to your forehead. He didn't rush, didn't pull away too quickly, he just held you there, his lips warm against your skin, and his hands still cradling your face.
"I've got you," he whispered, breath fanning against your hair as you relished his touch.
A shaky exhale left your lips as you closed your eyes, finally letting yourself lean completely into him. He didn't say anything else and he didn't need to.
For a long moment, the only sound in the room was the steady rhythm of your breathing, syncing with his.
Luke gave you another soft squeeze before shifting back slightly. He brushed a few stray strands of hair from your face, tucking them behind your ear with a certain tenderness that made your throat tighten again, just this time for a different reason.
"Better?" he asked quietly, his voice gentle as if talking to a frightened animal. You nodded, your fingers flexing slightly against his legs.
"Yeah," you croaked, nuzzling into the soft material of his pants. "'m better."
Luke hummed in approval, tilting your chin up so your tired eyes met his. There was no teasing smirk, no smugness, just a certain understanding that Luke always seemed to possess.
"C'mere," he murmured, guiding you up gently until you could settle into his lap. His arms wrapped around you, pulling you in close, his chin resting atop your head as you leaned into him.
You curled up into his hold, letting his warmth surround you, the rhythmic moving of his chest beneath you calming you more than anything else could. His hands moved to trace gentle circles on your back, the other resting securely against your waist, keeping you tucked against him as if he never wanted to let go.
He pressed another soft kiss into your hair, his lips lingering there for a moment before he exhaled, his breath warm against your scalp.
"You don't have to be okay all the time," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper as if he didn't want to break the quiet. "You can lean on me, sweet girl, that's what I'm here for."
You swallowed against the lump in your throat, gripping the fabric of his hoodie just a little tighter.
It felt safe, impossibly so.
"I know," you eventually whispered back, letting his familiar scent surround you as he tightened his grip.
And for the first time in hours, you actually meant it.
THINK YOU CAN KEEP QUIET? — luke hughes x gf!reader
summary: luke has a hard time keeping his eyes and hands off of you when you’re wearing that dress.

The room practically vibrated around Luke as he stood in a fresh black tux surrounded by patrons and people important to the team, his mouth absentmindedly chewing the pastry he'd taken from the snack table.
He was in conversation with Jack and some man...maybe his name was Daniel...or Thomas? Luke didn't catch it. In fact, Luke wasn't even listening.
How on earth could he when all he could do was keep his eyes latched onto you?
You were talking to a few of the other WAGs, sipping from a golden flute of champagne as your eyes crinkled, your smile wide and bright across your face.
But that wasn't all Luke was focused on.
You were wearing the dress.
That goddamned, sinful silk dress that made Luke's head spin at the mere sight.
He watched from across the banquet hall as the silk rippled and shifted across your body like the ichor straight from the pulse of ancient gods. The lights hit it, and the fabric would shimmer, catching Luke's eye at every singular movement.
From the moment you'd appeared from the bedroom, adorning the dress he loved so dearly, he'd wanted you up against a wall, writhing beneath his towering figure.
God, the way the dress melded to your figure, clinging to all the places he loved to hold, traipse and kiss, made his head run endless circles in what he could only describe as horny hell.
He swallowed his food, his throat suddenly dry as you moved again, your eyes catching on his, twinkling beneath the chandelier hung high above.
He took his time as his eyes dropped over your satin-clad body, travelling over the swell of your chest, down to your hips, and the sliver of leg peeking out from the side slit.
He felt a small noise bubble in the back of his throat as he adjusted his stance, hands falling to clasp together in front of his twitching cock.
When his eyes finally retrained on yours, he caught the glint within them. Your lips quirked into a small smile as if teasing him, practically screaming, 'I know the effect I have on you,' before you turned to talk to one of the other women.
His eyes remained on your figure as he cleared his throat and quietly excused himself from the conversation, ignoring Jack's questioning gaze, uncaring if he came across as abrupt and rude, his only prevailing thought being to go to you.
Luke swiftly crossed the hall, watching as you laughed and talked animatedly, your nose scrunching and beam widening.
God, he loved you like this.
His arm gently slid around you as he joined your conversation. You tilted your head upwards, your smile pulling at your grinning lips, eyes shining as you leaned back into his chest. Your hands moved to rest atop his arm draped across your stomach, his fingers sprawled across the soft material.
"Sorry to interrupt," Luke spoke smoothly, glancing at the other women you were talking to. "Mind if I steal y/n away from you for a while?"
"She's all yours," Nicole waggled her eyebrows at the two of you as you playfully rolled your eyes and allowed Luke to whisk you away.
"I was in the middle of talking," you pouted as Luke's arm shifted from your stomach to rest against your lower back, slowly guiding you towards the exit.
"Yeah, well," Luke murmured, his lips brushing close to your ear as he bent down to your height. "You can finish your conversation later."
A shiver shot down your spine, setting alight every nerve in your body and sending a splintering heat towards your core.
Your pulse thrummed against the flesh of your neck, hammering against your ears as you let Luke guide you away from the noise and glow of the banquet hall and through the winding corridors.
"Luke," you whispered, half-laughing as passerbyers smiled and said their hellos to the youngest Hughes, a dazzling smile and nod being returned.
You couldn't imagine what you looked like, being led away from the hall, but you didn't resist him. Not when his touch was so possessive, his hand warm against the curve of your back.
Not when every glance from him tonight had made your skin burn for his touch, and certainly not when you caught the look in his eyes.
He didn't say anything as he led you further away, his fingers finding purchase in the silk material of your dress. The noise of the party had decreased into a deep and muffled hum as Luke turned down another hallway, desolate and silent.
When he found a door labelled storage, he glanced around briefly before pulling it open and gently tugging you inside.
"Luke," you gasped as the door clicked shut behind you, plunging you both into the depths of the shadows, the space small and its air thickening by the second. "People probably-"
You couldn't get around to finishing that thought, not when he pressed you carefully against the wall, his body caging yours in. One of his hands braced itself beside your head, his other resting low on your hip, fingers digging into both the silk and the skin it barely covered.
"This dress," Luke murmured, voice low and rumbling, vibrating through your chest as his lips brushed your jaw, your cheek, before he teasingly ghosted over your mouth. "...is driving me insane."
"Luke!" Your protest faltered as his hand traced down, fingertips grazing along the slit of your dress, peeling it away as he dragged slow circles along the exposed flesh of your thigh.
"I can be quick," he promised, though there were no remnants of patience in the way his mouth finally took yours, hungry and desperately consuming you completely. It pulled the breath from your lungs in one swift movement and had you arching into his chest, your hands clutching tight onto the lapels of his jacket.
His lithe fingers skated up your thigh, bunching your dress upwards while your lips greedily moved to meet his once again.
You felt his hands brush against your bare, dripping core, and instantly, he froze. He pulled away from your lips, messy strings of saliva dangling between you as Luke's flushed face darkened.
"You're not wearing underwear?" His voice was strained while his fiery eyes searched yours.
You hummed, nodding your head with an impish smile, hands moving to lock together behind his neck.
"Would've shown through the fabric," you shrugged lazily, as you shifted slightly against him, revelling in the way his entire body tensed.
Luke let out a slow and controlled breath through his nose, his jaw clenching as he fought for any morsel of composure. His fingers flexed on your thigh, the pads of them digging into your bare skin.
"You're fucking with me," he murmured, half questioning, half pure disbelief. As you tilted your head, lips curving into a knowing smile, Luke's throat bobbed as he swallowed hard, his fingers twitching against your thigh before he let out a sharp exhale and pressed you even harder against the wall.
His body was taut, wound tight like a coil ready to untangle and spring apart. You could practically feel his restraint snapping apart thread by thread.
"You walked around all night," he slowly muttered, "like this?" His palm dragged over your thigh, creeping dangerously closer and closer towards your sopping core. "Knowing what you were doing to me?"
You smirked, arms tightening around his neck as you arched into him, relishing the way his breath hitched.
"Maybe," you whispered, letting your teeth brush the shell of his ear. Under your touch, you could feel a wave of shivers wrack through his body.
A deep growl rumbled from his chest, and before you could process your next routine breath, his hand gripped your thigh and hiked it up higher, tight against his hip, pressing his body flush against yours.
"You're gonna pay for that, sweetheart," Luke murmured, his voice rough and laced with the promise of ruin.
"Oh, yeah?" You taunted, voice low, tongue running over the plump of your lip. "And what-"
Before you could finish, his lips were back on yours, and you gasped against his mouth, clutching onto him, scared to let him slip away. His fingers dipped into the wetness pooling, your chest arching further into his muscular chest as he held you tight against the wall.
His tongue plunged into the depths of your mouth as his lithe fingers traipsed teasingly through your folds, stopping just below where you craved his touch, causing your breath to falter and catch in your throat.
You watched with wide, doe-like eyes as Luke broke the kiss, his eyes practically all pupil and cheeks painted a deep ruby. He locked his eyes onto yours, raising his hand from between your thighs, ripping a mindless whimper from your lips. His lips quirked upward as he slid one of his fingers, drenched with your juices, in through the plush of his lips. He emitted a deep guttural groan, his head rolling back as your taste coated his tongue like the most sinfully sweet nectar.
"Gonna have to a proper taste, sweet girl," Luke uttered, leaning forward to capture your swollen lips briefly before moving them further down, tracing your jaw, his tongue gliding against the supple skin just below your ear.
"Luke, please." You found yourself gasping as his tongue suctioned the sensitive skin, his teeth brushing it ever so slightly, just enough to bruise. "People will see it!"
Luke hummed out a laugh, breath fanning against your throat as he laved over the mark.
"But..." He drawled, pulling back to admire his creation, his hand moving to cup your neck, thumb gently caressing along the ripples of colour he'd imprinted into your skin. Your eyes followed his, bleary and filled with desperation as his lower lip jutted out. "Y'look so pretty with them."
You whined as he nuzzled his nose along the curve of your neck, his hands slowly slipping downwards to grip the silky dress and gently bunch it up at the apex of your thighs. He moved away, your hands dropping from the lapels of his suit, yet your lips chased his, careening forward and closer to the warmth of his body.
Luke smirked at your act of desperation, the sound of your shallow breaths only fueling the sparking fire crackling beneath his skin. His lips, pink and equally as swollen as yours, glistened and hovered just out of reach, deadset on tormenting. His fingers were unhurried as they traipsed across the expanse of your exposed thigh, skating and sliding dangerously close to the heat of your desire but never quite touching.
Your body arched instinctively, seeking the friction he was so cruelly withholding, equally as fiendish and devilish as the smirk gripping the curves of his cheek.
"Luke," you whimpered breathlessly, your voice dripping with need.
"What? Does my pretty little whore not like being teased?" He chuckled darkly, the sound reverberating through your chest as he leaned in, pressing a slow, open-mouthed kiss against the side of your neck. "Patience, sweetheart, think you can be quiet?"
Your hands fisted in the fabric of his tux, your body thrumming with building frustration. He knew exactly what he was doing, keeping you on the edge, dangling you over a precipice you were desperate to tumble from.
"Please," you whimpered, voice quivering.
Luke groaned, like the sound alone was enough to unravel every bit of his restraint. Without hesitation, he gripped the back of your knee, hoisting your leg higher around his waist, pressing you even harder against the wall. His lips trailed downward, hot and sloppy kisses searing a path over your collarbone, chest, down, down, down.
He slowly lowered himself to his knees, causing a soft swear to escape your quivering lips as the sight of him between your thighs sent a fresh wave of tumultuous heat through your aching core. His large hands readjusted their grip and pushed the silky dress further up, fully exposing your bare and dripping cunt to him.
"Fuck," Luke exhaled, his pupils blown wide as he took in the glisten of your arousal. "All for me?"
You nodded frantically, fingers threading through his hair as he pressed an open-mouthed kiss to your inner thigh, his tongue flicking out to taste the sensitive skin. He hummed softly, so softly it could be mistaken as a whimper, savouring you, before shifting closer, his breath hot against your slick folds.
"I've been dying to taste you all night," Luke murmured, his eyes flicking upwards as his tongue darted out to wet the plushness of his lips.
As you opened your mouth to speak, he licked a slow, deliberate stripe up your centre, his tongue pressing flat before swirling around your clit. Your back arched, a strangled moan ripping from your lips as he groaned into you, savouring your taste like it was the finest of wines, the sweetest nectar of the gods served on a golden platter for his tasting.
Your hands fell automatically to his curls, the soft hair you'd helped to meticulously style, becoming tangled between your fingers. You felt a vibrating hum pulse through your core as Luke whimpered beneath your tightening grip.
His hands tightened on your thighs, keeping you spread open for him as he devoured you with languid strokes of his tongue, savouring your taste. He alternated between teasing flicks and deep, desperate sucks, his mouth working you over with a quite frankly rude precision.
"Luke," you gasped, thighs trembling as he pulled you closer, burying himself deeper between your legs. He hummed in response, the vibration sending another sharp wave of pleasure straight to your core.
You felt his lips suction to your clit, his tongue rapidly flicking as you tried to stifle your moans with the palm of your hand.
One of his hands slid up, fingers teasing your entrance before slipping inside, curling just right, stroking that spot that made you keen. Your body tensed, the coil tightening impossibly fast, and Luke knew it.
"Come for me, sweetheart," he commanded, his tongue relentless, his fingers coaxing you to the edge. "Let me feel it."
With a sharp cry, you shattered, pleasure crashing over you in waves as he held you steady, drinking in every last drop of your release. He didn't stop, didn't pull away until you were shaking, gasping, utterly spent.
When he finally stood, his lips were slick, his expression wrecked with desire as he leaned in, capturing your mouth in a deep, filthy kiss. You whimpered into it, tasting yourself on his tongue, your body already stirring for more.
"Luke–" Your voice was wrecked, hoarse and heavy with need as you drew back from the kiss, chest heaving and nose brushing his.
"I hear you," He murmured along your swollen lips, eyes dark and half hidden behind his lashes. "I've got you." You whined at his words, bleary eyes watching as Luke's hand reached for his pants, unbuttoning and unzipping the material while you clung to him. "Gotta take care of my girl, hm?"
You felt drunk watching as he pulled out his throbbing cock, mouth watering as you mewled, clutching at the pristine fabric of his shirt, crumpling beneath your hold. Your core ached, your slick slipping down the plush of your thigh in rivulets, and the carnal need for Luke to be inside of you was becoming too much to bear.
You tried to vocalise it, but your words came out in a sharp and squeaky moan as he teasingly slapped the head of his cock against your puffy clit. Sparks of ecstasy filtering through your nerves, your hands scrambling for your boy again. Looking up at him with widened eyes, you watched him laugh, readjusting his hold on you and your dress, keeping it out of the mess you were creating.
"Please," You found yourself begging, while Luke lifted your thigh and notched the bulbous head at your clenching hole, smearing his precum along the opening. "Please fuck me, please!"
"Can feel you slicking me up, sweet girl," He cooed, nudging his nose against yours, lips twisted into a smile. You bucked your hips in desperation, head falling back as a cry bubbled in your chest. "You've been so good f'me."
Luke pressed forward, his cock breaching your cunt with the delicious stretch it always caused. Your breathing hitched, and your hands whitened on his shoulders as he buried himself deep inside of you, his thumb strumming your pulsating clit. You clamped down on him, the feeling intoxicatingly damning.
"God, baby," He stayed still for a few seconds, relishing the pulsing heat of your pussy, a choked groan reverberating in his throat. "Still so tight...did I not fuck you hard enough this morning?" He didn't let you answer, pulling out before thrusting deep back into you, your words garbling at the motion.
You swore that you could feel him everywhere as he split you open with a steady pace, his thumb working in tandem with his cock, circling your throbbing nub with the pad of his thumb. Moans were ripped from your throat in reckless abandon, your body being jerked against the wall by the power of his thrusts.
He relentlessly drove into your spongey depths, keeping one hand on your leg and dress while you spiralled towards a second orgasm. Soft grunts filtered from his lips as he sped up, pounding you hard and fast, so much so that the breath was being swept from your lungs until all you could consume was Luke.
"'m not gonna last long," He strangled out, "You in that dress...fuck, sweet girl," His hips bucked, and the tip of his cock nudged that sweet spot hidden in your walls that had stars blinking into your vision. "Thought I'd have to take you right there on the floor in front of everyone."
A cry burst from your lips, tears streaming down your face as you wriggled to chase Luke's pace. You couldn't form words, and all thoughts apart from the pleasure were dissipating as soon as they manifested.
Your brain was foggy, sight hazy and body struggling to maintain any sense of composure as he slammed his cock further into you, stomach bulging beneath the silky dress. Your cunt was weeping arousal around his cock, the sticky mess overwhelming as he continued his tirade, taking pleasure from your body like it was originally his.
"Can feel you squeezing me," He panted out, hips now frantically grinding towards your heat as his fingers shifted to frentically play with your clit, rolling it meanly between his fingers before gyrating it in time with his thrusts. The pleasure had built up in your core, tight and trembling, drumming around your body to the sound of your pounding heart. "You can come, sweet girl,"
A loud whimper fell from your lips, and you didn't care to try to contain it as Luke's head dipped to your exposed neck, suckling the sensitive flesh before gently nibbling at it. He laved his tongue up the curve of your neck, stopping at your ear, teeth brushing the shell of it.
"Come for me," He lowly murmured, his breath fanning across your ear. His thrusts were sharp and pointed, each one prodding that sweet spot whilst his fingers worked to bring you over the edge. Your body tightened, but it did little to stop your trembling limbs. "Come for me, now."
A ragged cry carved its way out from your chest as your body spasmed against Luke, the tightness dispersing into pure euphoria that coated your soul in satisfaction. Your boy kept you firm against him as he chased his own pleasure, hips melding to yours as he bucked up, helping you ride through the pleasure, his fingers slowing but not stopping, to draw out every last drop of pleasure.
Your hand slipped from Luke's shoulder to the base of his neck, your fingers tangling in the curls there before pulling on them.
Luke's pace faltered, and a staggered groan slipped from his tongue. Your mind was hazy as he spilt inside of you, ropes of his warmth coating the inside of your aching cunt, your hand still firm in his curls. You could feel yourself pulse around him, his come sticking to the walls of your pussy as he remained buried deep inside of you.
He shifted ever so slightly, resting his forehead on yours, your chests rising and falling in unison as you both caught your breath. His cologne swirled around you, the comforting and familiar smell helping to ground your floaty mind and making you nuzzle closer to his body.
"God..." He whispered, pulling back by an inch to admire your fucked out face. His eyes glanced towards your bruising neck and then down to where the two of you were still wetly connected. "You have no idea what you do to me, sweetheart."
Your lip caught between your teeth, the heat rising to your cheeks as you felt him shift inside of you.
"I think I have somewhat of an idea," You murmured back, sinking back towards his warmth, your lips sweetly pressing against his. You could feel him lazily smiling into the kiss, his tongue swiping along your bottom lip.
"How about we go home?" He blurted out when you pulled back. "We can say we feel sick and just leave?...then maybe another round?"
"Luke–" You huffed out a gentle laugh, fingers intertwining behind his neck, your gaze darted to his lips, then back to his eyes. "I thought you'd never ask."
I WANT TO BE WITH YOU EVERYWHERE — luke hughes x reader

note: just pure drunken love and sweetness I can’t lie, shoutout to everyone who requested this (and everybody who gets tired when drunk).
warnings: MDNI, drinking, use of: sweet/pretty/sleepy girl, fem!reader, fluffiness to the MAX.
THIS IS UNEDITED!!
“Can you hear me calling, out your name? You know that I'm falling and I don't know what to say—”
Luke’s hand darted for his phone at the sound of his ringtone for you. It was some Fleetwood Mac song you would listen to on repeat, blast in his car, hum beneath your breath — a song so unequivocally you.
Luke slid the answer button across, lifting the phone to his ear and was instantly met with loud chatter and giggles that made his heart swoop.
“Hey, sweet girl, everything alright?” He began, pausing some random WWII history documentary that he’d been watching on Netflix. “Having a nice night?”
You and a few of your friends had decided to go out for a girl’s night, and as you were leaving, Luke knew one thing was for certain and that was the fact you would not be returning sober.
“Lu,” your voice crackled through the receiver, “Lu, can you..come ‘n get me?” Your words were interrupted by spontaneous hiccups and more laughter.
“Sure thing,” Luke instantly replied, sitting up and pulling the blanket off of his legs. “Where are you now?”
Another hiccup echoed through the receiver followed by another round of giggles.
“‘m outside,” Luke swore he could hear your slanted smile from your voice alone. “It was loud inside.”
“Sounds it,” He agreed, balancing his phone between his ear and shoulder as he grabbed his keys, a bottle of water and another hoodie of his. “Which bar did you guys end up at tonight, pretty girl?”
“Madrio’s, and then Rocket and now some loud places called Lancombes.” You listed, “’s busy though and I wanna come home.”
“Okay, that’s alright,” Luke shook his head lovingly, leaving his apartment. “I’ll be there in 15 minutes, sweet girl, is there anyone else with you?”
“Mmm, I think Jada is here,”
Luke heard another faint voice talking to his girl, before the phone was handed over.
“I’ll keep an eye on her until you get here,” Jada spoke through the phone, “I’m DD-ing for two of the others but we can wait.”
“Thank you,” Luke breathed into the phone as he approached the car park. “I won’t be longer than fifteen.”
“Alrighty then,” that was the last thing Luke heard before the phone echoed clattering and shuffling from the other end of the line.
“Hello?” Luke asked tentatively into the speaker, pausing in front of his car, eyebrows scrunched. “Is everything good?”
“Hi Lukey,” your voice giggled through the speaker. You sounded out of breath, the receiver almost muffled.
“y/n-what?! Sit up! No, you can’t lie across the path!”
“I’m comfortable! And least it’s not the road!”
Luke shook his head at your protests as more shuffling and scuffling echoed through the line as Jada presumably pulled you off the path. He swiftly hopped into his car, buckling himself in and throwing his handful of items in the back.
“Y/n, you there?” He asked, turning the key in the ignition.
“Mmhmm…” your hum was loud but crackled through the phone. “Can we get Tino’s?”
Luke let out a small chuckle while the phone automatically connected to his car. Tino’s was a small pizza joint that specialised in takeaway pizza slices— the best in New Jersey, you had proclaimed one night. The place became your favourite post-drink food spot, one which Luke happily indulged in as well.
“Yeah we can swing by on the way back,” he reasoned, pulling out of the garage.
“This is why you’re my favourite boyfriend,” you sighed happily into the receiver.
“You have more than one boyfriend, sweet girl?” He teased.
“Oh yeah, lines upon lines, all waiting for to step down.”
“Not happening.”
“I know… ‘s why I love you,”
“Love you too,” Luke grinned, eyes focused on the road. “I’m on my way.”
“Stay on the phone…please?”
And who was Luke to resist your saccharine pleading?
“Absolutely…You still with your friends?”
☆
By the time Luke pulled up to the bar, you were still sitting pretty on the curbside, phone to your ear as you waved towards his oncoming car. He parked the vehicle just meters away from you, hopping out of the car just in time to assist Jada with helping you up off of the floor.
“Lukeeee,” you slurred, bright eyes shining underneath the bar lights as you threw your arms around his shoulders.
“Hey, pretty girl,” Luke cooed, arms dropping to your waist as he held you against him. You made a small preening noise, hands slipping beneath his hoodie for warmth as you relished his hold. “Ready to go?”
“Mhmm,” your voice reverberated through Luke’s chest from where you’d nuzzled into him.
Luke glanced behind him, keeping his arms around you as he locked eyes with Jada, who was juggling your two other friends on either arm.
“Thanks again for looking after her,” he spoke with genuine gratitude lacing his every word.
“No hassle,” Jada responded, her grip tightening on the two stumbling girls. “Good luck getting her home, she’s had a bit too much, even tried to bribe the bouncer to let her in.”
“I had twizzlers left over,” you mumbled tiredly, head still burrowed in Luke’s chest. “And everyone likes the red ones!”
With a knowing laugh, Luke shook his head and helped guide you towards the passenger side, carefully helping you in. You sunk into the leather of the seats, pouting as Luke moved to grab something from the back.
“None of that,” Luke tutted, coming back into view, handing you a waterbottle and clutching one of his hoodies. “C’mon put this on you, you’re freezing.”
A smile wormed its way across your face, eyes lighting up as the warmth of the familiar material was shrugged over you, drowning you in heat and the scent of your boy. The water bottle lay in your lap as you wriggled happily, sticking your hands through the sleeves, chuckling as you tried to poke your fingers out from the cuff only to be left with sweater paws.
You cradled Luke’s face in your sweater-clad hands, unintelligible words escaping your lips as he buckled you into the seat, adjusting the strap so it wouldn’t dig into your neck.
“You’re so pretty,” you pouted once more, eyes wide and puppy-like as you drew Luke’s face closer to yours, your forehead resting against his.
Luke flushed, no matter how drunk or sober you were, your praise or compliments meant the world. Made him feel all fuzzy and loved.
“Okay, you’re all buckled in,” he whispered, pressing a soft kiss to your pouted lips, the lingering taste of spirits dwindling on the plushness of your mouth.
“Pizza time?” You asked, eyebrows raising, you reluctantly let go of Luke.
“Pizza time,” he confirmed, ensuring you were completely tucked in before shutting the door and jogging around to the driver’s seat. As he hopped into his side, closing the door and buckling himself in, he turned his head towards you. “Fleetwood Mac?”
With a gleeful nod from you, Luke connected his phone to the aux, the queued Fleetwood Mac songs filling the car’s interior.
The journey was quiet for a while, the sultry sound of Stevie Nicks was the only sound (other than the vehicular noises), but it was far from the type of awkward quiet. You’d leaned fully into the seat, your hand gripping onto Luke’s that rested on your thigh. You drunkenly hummed along to the song, head tilted towards your boyfriend while your free hand twiddled with the string of Luke’s hoodie, pulling and tugging at it ever so slightly.
Luke stole glances at you every few minutes, taking in every detail of his girl, from the dishevelled hair, half-lidded eyes, the chipped nail polish, the smudged eye make up. You looked like what you frequently would describe as “the most panda-like of hot messes”…Luke didn’t see that.
What Luke saw was a version of you that he loved. Yes, a little messy, yes, a little chaotic but god, you were gorgeous.
Your lips, the lips he knew so well were twisted into a smile, something so sweet and peaceful that it made his chest ache and heart clench.
Ten minutes into the drive, he pulled into the small parking lot outside of Tino’s, which was completely illuminated by gaudy neon lights.
When he looked towards you to ask if you wants your usual, he noticed your eyes had fully closed, your body slumped into the seat but your grip on his hand still tight.
He shifted his few hand up to brush away stray hair from your cheeks, his heated palm resting on the side of your face.
“Hey, sleepy girl,” Luke gently started, as you stirred. “Want me to go in and get the food, or would you like to come?”
“Can you please get it? ’m comfortable,” you murmured, eyes lipping shut once again.
“Okay, hang tight,” he whispered, pressing a kiss to your temple. Luke kept the engine running to allow the heat to continue to pump into the car before he stepped out onto the gravel and towards the shop.
The workers in there knew you two well enough, so the second Luke asked for your regular meals, they were ready and all within minutes.
Hands ladened with your favourite pizza and a slice of his own, he made his way back to the car, his smile unwavering at the sight of you curled up in the passenger seat.
Luke cautiously opened the door to his side, the click of the car rousing you from your nap.
“Pizza?” You sleepily slurred, hands poking out in a grabby motion.
“Your favourite,” he softly smiled, handing over the greasy pizza slice atop its takeaway plate.
You immediately dug in, your head dramatically lolling to the side with a low moan as you bit into the slice.
“So good,” you groaned, taking another bite as it melted into your mouth.
Luke bit back his own growing desire as you let out another bodily moan, head back and lips parted. You looked like the epitome of sin, the very thing Luke on any other occasion would indulge in, but no matter how much you would end up pleading later in the night, any sinful indulgences or activities would have to wait until the morning.
Pushing down the flare of heat, Luke tried to list hockey heroes to quench any semblance of desire— Gretzky, Howe, Orr, Crosby, Lemieux, Messier.
He bit into his own slice with a shuddered breath.
“Thank you, Lu,” you spoke eventually, but your words muffled as you scoffed back the last bit of your pizza. “You’re my best boyfriend.”
“Oh yeah?” Luke swallowed before answering, “well thank you, sweet girl, appreciate it.”
You giggled at that, hands fumbling for his free one as you clutched it tightly.
“Why don’t you have some water, hm?” He began, directing their clasped hands towards the bottle which was still perched on your lap. Slowly and gently, he removed his hand from yours, picking up the bottle, directing the straw towards you. “Need to keep you hydrated.”
You hummed contentedly, tongue darting out to capture the straw through a childish laugh. Luke watched with a knowing smile as you sipped on the water, his hand steadily holding the bottle for you.
You pulled back, a satisfied sigh leaving your lips as you settled back into the plushness of the leather seat.
“Ready to go?”
Your bleary eyes met Luke’s at his words, head lethargically bobbing up and down as he let out a small noise of approval, smoothing your hair back before planting a gentle kiss on your cheek before starting the engine, one of his hands clasping yours.
The drive back was even shorter, and seven or eight minutes later, Luke pulled into the underground garage of your shared apartment complex.
He glanced over at you, your face smushed against the cool glass, eyes fully closed, soft breaths escaping your parted lips, hand now limp in his.
Luke briefly squeezed your hand before getting out and walking around the car. He tentatively opened the door, immediately reaching in to catch your drooping head. You stumbled over your words incoherently while Luke shushed you gently, keeping you steady as he unbuckled your seatbelt.
You shifted and groaned ever so quietly, as he scooped you up bridal-style, one arm beneath your knees, the other holding you close to his chest before you could even think to wobble to your feet.
“I can walk,” you protested sleepily into his hoodie, nose nudging at the exposed skin of his neck.
“I know, but this is faster.” Luke tilted his head, adjusting his grip to hold you even closer. As he pressed the elevator button with “…and you have a tendency to fall asleep in the elevator.”
“I only did that twice.”
“Three times.”
“Dramatic,”
“Drunk,”
You scoffed, but your mouth betrayed you as it twisted into a small smile. Luke hummed, and you couldn’t tell if it was intentional or mindless, but the faint sound of Fleetwood Mac filtering into the air from his pink lips relaxed your every muscle.
Luke struggled for a second or two to get the door open, inevitably swiftly kicking it open to carry you inside.
He gently sat you on the couch before kneeling down to unlace your boots. He did it methodically, one shoelace at a time as your hands gravitated towards his curls, twirling them between your fingers. When he eventually tugged off your boots, his hands cradled your aching feet, placing them back down onto the wooden flooring.
He stood up slowly, his knees cracking as he rose. He looked down at where you were still slumped into the couch, half-asleep with one eye forced open and a lazy and mischievous smile stretched across your bitten lips.
"Makeup off, then bed," Luke told you softly, reaching for your hand again, ignoring the way you groaned like what he’d just said was a personal insult.
“I can sleep like this,” your lip jutted outward, “m'skin’s tired, ‘n I’m tired.”
Luke couldn’t help the snort that escaped him, softly tugging you upright.
“Not happening, sweet girl,” he tutted while he helped you up, slowly guiding you towards the bathroom. “You’ll complain in the morning when your face feels like sandpaper and your mascara glues your eyes together.”
You let out a frustrated huff but leaned into him nevertheless, with every step punctuated by a mumbled complaint or a dreamy sigh.
Inside the lit bathroom, you blinked blearily at your reflection, wincing at the sight. You were the most panda-like of hot messes, but despite that you giggled, the sight comical rather than cringey.
Luke reached up into the bathroom cabinet, grabbing a soft face towel and the bottle of micellar water you always kept on the top shelf—"just in case,” you’d told him, much preferring to use a lotion cleanser but desperate times? Desperate measures.
Luke knew the routine by now.
“Sit,” he whispered, tapping the closed toilet seat gently.
You sluggishly obeyed, resting your chin atop your palm, elbows high on your knees before watching Luke kneel again.
He tilted your head ever so slightly with a gentle finger beneath your chin, soaking the towel before beginning to wipe delicately at the smudged mascara beneath your eyes.
He was being so sweet and soft, you thought you may just happily melt right there and then.
“You’re so gentle,” you finally whispered, voice ladened with sleep. Eyes blinking innocently as he paused his movements.
“Only with you,” Luke offered you a lopsided smile, nose crinkling (something you noticed he did a lot when he felt complimented).
He continued his work, softly brushing over your closed eyelids, swiping the shimmer and makeup residue from your cheeks. He moved the towel downward and across your jaw, collecting a smear of lipstick that had half-faded, half-smudged (despite the packaging telling you it would do otherwise!)
“All gone?” you meekly asked, eyes fluttering open to meet the loving hazel of Luke’s.
You watched as your boyfriend tilted his head, examining your face under the light.
“Close enough,” he concluded, placing the towel next to the sink. “Let’s get you into bed, yeah?”
Ever the gentleman, Luke helped you back to your feet, suppressing his chuckles as you used him like your own tall, personal crutch.
Once inside your shared bedroom, he was swift to hand you an oversized t-shirt of his that he’d laid out for you earlier in the evening. It was one of your favourites, already soft and well worn in with the Michigan team logo long faded on the front.
Changing you took longer than Luke expected and was filled with minor catastrophes (like getting your arm through the wrong hole and nearly falling backward onto the bed, or getting your top tangled in your hair), but your boy stayed patient.
He didn’t care that you floundered like a fish out of water, he just cared that you were safe. Which is why throughout all those minor disasters, he kept his hand on your upper arm, ready to assist if needed.
When he finally managed to wrangle you into bed, tucked warmly beneath the covers, he turned to leave causing your hand to dart out and to grab onto his wrist.
“Where you goin’?”
He grinned that sunny grin you adored so wholeheartedly, leaning down to press a kiss to your forehead.
“Nowhere,” he promised, leaning down to cup your jaw. “Just grabbing us more water and turning off the lights.”
“Mmkay…hurry?”
Luke didn’t answer but nodded his head, leaving you to curl up beneath the sheets.
He returned less than a moment later, flicking off the hallway light, quickly pulling off his hoodie and sweatpants before slipping into bed beside you.
As soon as he lay down beside you, you immediately rolled into him, instinctively curling into his side. Your head moved to rest above his heart, your legs tangling with his, and your fingers slipping under his shirt to rest against the warm skin of his stomach.
“Thanks for takin' care of me,” you mumbled into his chest, moving your head to press a kiss to the line of his jaw.
“Always, sweet girl.”
Luke smiled, reaching up to smooth your hair away from your face, pressing one last kiss to your temple before pulling you even closer.
“Sleep now, I got you.”
And between the warmth of the bed, the alcohol coursing through your veins and the weight of Luke’s arms holding you tight, you allowed yourself to drift off into sleep feeling so impossibly loved.

You heard your boy’s voice before you even fully woke up. In fact, it was his soft humming that had roused you, echoing in from the kitchen along with the faint noise of food cooking and cutlery clanking. You kept your eyes closed, the sheets around your bare body cool yet completely comfortable, your body light as you curled deeper into them.
You stayed like that, bouncing between sleeping and resting, body relaxed and mind adrift. It wasn't until the bedroom door was pushed open fully, did you dare open an eye.
Luke was concentrating, his eyes locked on the wobbling tray of food and tea he held as his foot continued to nudge the door open. You peeked over the sheets, relishing the sight of Luke, his chest bare and littered with purpling bruises in the shape of your lips. He was wearing a mere pair of underwear that looked hastily thrown on as a last-minute thought. A small smile danced across your sleepy expression at the sight.
"Morning," you yawned, sleepy smile still intact as you raised your arms and stretched your aching body.
"Morning, pretty girl, didn't mean to wake you," Luke answered sheepishly, eyebrows scrunched as he placed the tray onto the bedside table. You hummed as you pushed yourself up to sit against the headboard.
"I was awake anyway," you supplied, eyes soft as you kept your gaze on your boyfriend. From here, you could see the scratches peeking over the curve of his broad shoulders and the way his hair was mussed and messy from you running your hands through it.
"Made breakfast," Luke began, sitting on the bedside table beside you, his bare legs budging yours playfully. "Thought you might need the energy."
You rolled your eyes with a sleep-heavy laugh, scrunching your nose as Luke pressed a quick peck to your forehead.
"Well, after you decided to fuck me four ways to Sunday, that's very considerate of you," you snorted, letting the sheets pool around your waist. An oversized shirt had been gently placed over your head last night before you slept, the smell of Luke in every fibre to lull you to sleep.
Luke pressed a chaste kiss to your temple before moving his lips to your ear.
"Don't remember you complaining, sweet girl,"
His voice had your eyes fluttering closed, memories of the night before washing over you.
"I know you can give me another."
Luke's voice was harsh yet strained, his breath cascading against your neck as he shallowly thrusted into the depths of your heat.
"Lu, please, I can't—" your whine cut through the thick air, body trembling and shaking in pleasure as Luke pounded into you, your wetness slick and running down your thighs. Your nails dug into the muscles on his back, eyes fluttering shut with each rough thrust while soft whimpers and moans escaped your throat.
Your boy had ripped three orgasms from you already, once by his mouth, another by his lithe fingers and then the third by his relentless pace he continued to fuck you with.
"That's it," Luke groaned out, while he paused his pace, his cock lathered in your come as he drew back, hand splayed at the base of your throat, eyes scanning your wrecked body. You were a sight for sore eyes, littered in small marks and completely fucked out, looking like his from head to toe.
Luke arrogantly rocked his hips, smirking as he pulled a strangled whimper from your parted mouth.
His thumb brushed along the supple skin of your neck, leaning back down, your bare tits brushing his chest, as he moved his hand to your cheek, pulling you into a desperate kiss.
His tongue tangled with yours, ripping all sense from your thoughts while he began to shift his hips once more.
You clutched onto him, head spinning and pleasure pulsing through your every vein, the overstimulation almost too much to bear. You could feel every ridge of his hardened cock plunging through the sponginess of your drenched pussy.
"C'mon, I can feel you clenching me," Luke cooed as he pulled away, hips slamming against yours, his lips brushing yours. He shifted to lean against his forearm that rested beside your head, his thrusts dizzying and forceful as he slammed into you.
"Luke, please, please," you stammered, body jolting as his pace picked up. "Need to come...please—"
"I got you," Luke murmured, brushing his nose against yours before letting his free hand drift down to your swollen clit, furiously circling the nub as that thick knot in your stomach tightened.
You swore the moment you came, your vision whitened. Your breath was swept from your lungs, and your body shook, your fourth and final orgasm wracking through you, your nails digging deep into the plushness of Luke's skin.
You could feel your boy thrusting lazily, his thumb still messing with your puffy clit as he let you ride out your euphoria, drawing it out while he chased his own high.
You had laid back in post-orgasmic bliss as ropes of Luke's come painted your insides, deep groans tumbling from his bitten lips. It was your name on his tongue as his orgasm hit, his body dropping closer to yours upon his release.
He'd kept his cock nestled inside of you for a few minutes, rolling with you, so that you rested on his chest while the two of you basked in the post sex glory.
Once you had come back to him, and your eyes had fluttered open, Luke had smoothed his thumb over your cheek, kissing you deeply and lovingly like he always did in moments like this. It wasn't a hungry kiss– that hunger had long been sated. It was a kiss that said "I love you", "you did good" and "thank you".
It made you feel all warm and fuzzy, your mind drifting as you found yourself lost in the sensation.
"I made toast, fruit, and tea."
Your attention snapped back to the present at your boy's words, cheeks heated and lip between your teeth. Luke was still looking at you, eyes glinting in amusement as if he could tell you were reminiscing.
"Thanks, Lu," you managed to say, the words catching in your throat as he handed you the plate of food.
"My pleasure,"
Luke sidled closer to you, his arm instinctively curling around your shoulders as you nestled into his warmth. His other hand reached out, grabbed a piece of fruit and quickly ate it, hiding his head in your shoulder.
"Hey!" You jokingly whined, eyebrows raising as he chewed. "I thought this was my breakfast, hm?"
"What's yours is mine," he muffled, through his mouthful.
"I think that's reserved for married couples, Lu," you giggled, picking up another piece of fruit to offer it to him.
"We'll be that soon enough," he shrugged against you, head tilting to face you. "Might as well get a head start."
"You proposing, Hughes?" You grinned, but your heart raced. You knew Luke intended to marry you, and you intended to marry him...hell, he could've asked you to marry him on your second date and you would've said yes.
"Oh, when I propose, there'll be no doubt about it," Luke spoke, swallowing his food. "You're the one for me, you know that."
"Nice to hear though," you drawled, moving to press a kiss to his lips. "And for what it's worth, you've been the one for me since I first met you...and if you do propose, I think you know my answer."
"Nice to hear though," Luke mimicked your words, but his voice was deeper, more serious than anything, eyes locking on yours as the soft smile he loved spread across your cheeks.
"Eat your fruit, Lu," You gently shoved at him, eyes full of love as you grabbed a slice of toast and bit right into it.
"Yes, ma'am"
You settled back against the headboard, body limp and relaxed as you ate. Luke's fingers traced shapes over the exposed skin of your shoulder as the two of you remained in your comfortable peace.
You knew Luke would propose eventually, and you knew you'd say yes.
What you didn't know is that the ring in Luke's bedside drawer had been bought a month after you'd met him, and before this August could fully come to a close to welcome in the colder Autumn, you would finally be on track to be his in the eyes of the law with a ring to prove it.
