Elevate your fudge game by adding the rich flavor of red wine to this decadent chocolate treat. The combination of semi-sweet chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, and reduced red wine creates a velvety, wine-infused fudge that's perfect for wine lovers and chocolate enthusiasts alike. Customize it with nuts and dried fruits for extra texture and flavor.
Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups of red wine. 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips. 1 can 14 ounces of sweetened condensed milk. 1/4 cup of unsalted butter. 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. A pinch of salt. Optional: 1/2 cup of chopped nuts e.g., walnuts or pecans. Optional: 1/4 cup of dried cherries or cranberries.
Instructions: Line an 8x8 inch 20x20 cm square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal later. In a saucepan, pour the red wine and simmer over low heat until it reduces to about 1/2 cup, which should take approximately 20-25 minutes. Allow it to cool. In a separate saucepan, combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter over low heat. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Remove the chocolate mixture from heat and stir in the reduced red wine, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix until fully incorporated. If desired, fold in the chopped nuts and dried cherries or cranberries into the mixture. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the fudge is set. Once the fudge has set, use the parchment paper overhang to lift it out of the pan. Place it on a cutting board and cut it into squares or rectangles. Serve your delicious Red Wine Fudge and enjoy!
