GDJYB 雞蛋蒸肉餅 ending a crazy year with a crazy song!   =D

They mix in a lot of styles, musically / vocally on this tune, and the MV looks really cool!  (Directed by J.him Lee, full a/v credits and lyrics back at YT)

HeiHei departed as GDJYB drummer in August, and she’s listed on fb as support drummer for Ideo War.  Karen Hui is the ‘support drummer’ on this catchy single from back in October:

This is the live stream / Hei Hei’s last gig with GDJYB 雞蛋蒸肉餅, available for a VERY limited time. (24 hours from when it ended, so maybe just a few more hours)    =D

The video begins with a couple of lyric MVs, then the band enter the studio space and get ready to play.  There is a brief photo montage at around 52 minutes, then Hei Hei says an emotional goodbye for a few minutes, then the band launch into their new single, 405 Method Not Allowed. (that phrase is a browser http error response code.)

Excellent set from the ladies, plenty of melodic math rock and tricky pop tunes!  =D

I think I have a new favorite song from this band!   GDJYB 雞蛋蒸肉餅

They achieve perfection with this arrangement: all the instruments sound great, with special mention to Soni Cheng’s layered guitars.  And Soft Liu has never sounded better, doing beautiful justice to her powerful lyrics:

ttbert1 posted a recap video of the GDJYB 雞蛋蒸肉餅 album launch from back in December. They sound great, but it’s frustrating to not hear any full songs!  Anyway, the reason I’m sharing this was because this was the show where they said goodbye to their original bassist, Yellow Yi Wong 'YY'.  (and introduced new bass hand Wing Chan)

Skip ahead to 10:15, the girls take a bow after the show, and then each makes a short speech to say farewell to their good friend and bandmate. Really sweet, brought tears to my eyes. (Just from the expressions on their faces, because I don’t understand a word of Cantonese, lol)   =D

UPDATE: ttbert1 just informed me: “Glad that you like this video capture of the very fine moment of GDJYB.Full set shall be coming...stay tuned.”   =D

Their album 23:59 Before Tomorrow is now on sale in CD form

And they were interviewed by StreetVoice 未來進行式 at FM103 this past weekend:
