Half-body commission for @wingedcat13.
Call Me Menace & Villains Never Retire - wingedcat13 Four alterations of the same book that I had the joy to hand over in person as a surprise gift to @desmothene, @pleasantboat, @finalfrontierpublishing and @fantailpress on a meet-up this January.
Many thanks to @wingedcat13 for the permission to share her work.
Finally getting around to posting pictures of this cutie. Quarto paperback of Villains Never Retire by @wingedcat13
I adore this story and wanted to give it shadowy vibe fit for Synovus.
I never post this kind of stuff but I am just so obsessed with wingedcat13’s Synoverse fics I had to throw my hat into the ring and post my fan art of Synovus. I just adore these fics so much and they have brought me so much joy.
So I've liked the stories about Lord/Lady Synovus (written by @wingedcat13) for a long time. And I decided I wanted a physical copy. So, with her permission, I made one!
The drawing of synovus on the cover (and spine) was made by @tea-with-eleni
Currently its a WIP but I just read @wingedcat13's incredible Synoverse series, and now I've got brain worms. I cannot stop thinking about this little shit, so here's a Syn!
I have a lore proposition! Regarding when Osiris might’ve been replaced - I think it was actually right in front of us. On the Moon mission at the beginning of Season of the Hunt, Osiris’s last comm to us is cut off, but he says “If I don’t make it out of this, I want you to tell Saint-“
Based on other musings about Nosiris not knowing about Saint’s importance, to me that would imply the Osiris we hear over comms is the real one, even if the one that we actually see get rescued by Crow is not.

That's an interesting catch for sure. I'd have to dig deeper into the full timeline (Destiny timeline my detested) but it's definitely an intriguing option. Very painful as well. I'll definitely keep this one in mind and I'll definitely give it another listen. Also should listen to any messages coming directly after that one.
Also something I don't think I've pointed out yet (or I forgot I did, it's been a lot of posts about this): the location of where Osiris battles the Hive.
It all happens in the Enduring Abyss. This is a darkness zone: which is a canon thing btw, not just a gameplay thing. It's very deep down on the Moon and we've been there to grab the Cryptoglyph in Shadowkeep. Remember, we cannot transmat out and we lose comms with Eris. The Enduring Abyss is too deep and too close to the Pyramid to allow transmatting and communications to go through.
I've yet to see a good explanation of how Osiris would've climbed out of there, wounded and Lightless, to reach the Shrine of Oryx where we find him (he's also on top of a platform that can't be climbed onto in the game and is too high to reach without abilities).
I know Eris survived and got out of the Hellmouth, but I'd need to look deeper into her exact locations while she was in the Hellmouth and if she's ever been trapped in the Enduring Abyss. I would say not simply because she would've known about the Pyramid earlier. But I'm not 100% on that. The Cryptoglyph mission from Shadowkeep mirrors a similar one from D1 and we never see a Pyramid down there in D1 so that's a bit of a weird thing. Either inconsistency or deliberate framing. The Pyramid could've also been hiding.
Either way, it's canonicaly not possible to transmat out of the Enduring Abyss or to make external communications while down there. Something to keep in mind in regards to how Osiris suddenly appeared in the Shrine of Oryx. I personally think he never left the Enduring Abyss, his last message was probably the one about him going down to the Moon and everything after is not him anymore.
But we can for sure debate on the details until Bungie provides us with the full story. His last known words being about Saint would be such poetic cinema and also breaking my heart.
For mute Paladins - I had a character in a game once (homebrew but still applies I think) who trained with a bard. They considered the vocal components a pattern of sound that conveyed intent, rather than the words themselves - so long as the spellcaster knew their meaning. So for this character, their vocals were the sounds of a blade striking plate, the scrape of one piece of armor over another, the shuffle step of boots on stone or wood. Their language of magic spoken without tongues.
i like this! Good thought!
