Ender slowly woke up when the sun hit his eyes, opening them as he stirred. He tried to slowly sit up until he felt a pair of arm holding him down. He looks over and smiles at the beautiful sleeping woman beside him. Her blonde hair almost reflects off of the sunlight, giving her a god-like and radiant appearance as she glowed. He mouth was slightly open as she slept, smiling even more as he watched her sleep.
Within a couple of minutes, she slowly opened her eyes, looking at him as he blue eyes pierced into his. She smiled at him, her hair slightly messy as she leaned up and sat her chin on his chest, drawing on his stomach lightly. “Morning…,” she whispered. He smiles. “Morning, hon…,” he whispered back. He pulls her into a hug and kisses her deeply.
She smiled at him more. “Sleep well?,” she asked. He smiles and nods as he plays with her hair. “You?,” he asked. She smiles. “Great.” He smiles more as he pulls her on top of him. “Want to have some morning fun?,” he asked. She smirks down at him. “You are pretty greedy…” He smirks back. “I know…” He kisses her deeply and strokes her back. Before they did anything, however, there was an knocking assault on their door. “Mommy! Daddy! Wake up!,” a small voice yelled. “Yeah! We wan to come in!,” a smaller voice yelled.
Ender chuckled and shook his head. “Another time, perhaps.” She smirks and pokes his nose before getting up and putting on a robe while Ender sat up. Once she opened the door, a small boy with blonde hair and a smaller girl with grey and silvery hair ran in and hugged Winry’s legs, yelling, “Mommy!” She laughed as she picked up her 3 year old son and her 2 year old daughter. “Hey kiddies!” They kiss her cheek and she reciprocates with a kiss on their cheeks back. She puts them on the bed and tackle Ender. “Whoa!,” he said, laughing loudly. They kiss his cheek and kisses their cheeks back as well. She sits down on the bed as the kids started jumping on the bed. “We’re hungry,” the boy exclaimed. The girl nodded. Ender chuckles as he ruffled their hair. “Alright. I’ll go make breakfast.” Winry stood up. “I’ll go get the coffee started,” she said.
Ender stood in front of her in the doorway. She smirked. “Really? This?,” she asked. “I’ll get everything started. You rest in bed and I’ll take care of everything.” She sighs. “I’m pretty sure the coffee machine won’t kill me.” He smiles. “Come on. Take a load off. You’re the military vet and you need bed rest.” He kisses her forehead. She smiles a little as she goes back to tend to the kids while Ender made breakfast. As he made the food, he smiled at how his life turns out. Married to the love of his life and having two beautiful kids on a pretty little island. It was an amazing life. He comes back and starts to eat with them, content with this change in life. No worries and no problems. Just happiness.
Ender felt some light hitting his face as he slowly woke up, the window having light shining through. He slowly came around as he was about to sit up, until a pair of strong feminine arms were keeping him from doing so. He smiled as he laid back down and stared at his beautiful wife, Winry. Her eyes looked like they were gently closed as her mouth was open only slightly for her to gently breathe in and out. Her hair almost glittered in the sun as he took in her beauty, blushing at just how amazing she was. Soon, her eyes slowly woke up as he blue eyes pierced into his. Ender smiled at her and she soon smiled back. "Morning", he said quietly. "Morning", she said back. He leans in and kisses her lips tenderly as she happily but tiredly returned. He wraps his arms around her as he stroked and petted her soft hair. "Sleep well?", he asked
"Of course"
"That's good..."
He held her closely as she buried her face into his chest, lightly breathing him in and sighing, making Ender blush in embarrassment.
Soon, he heard some knocks at the door. "Mommy! Daddy!", a little voice yelled from outside. "Can we come in?", another little voice yelled. Ender chuckled as he sat upright. "Of course", he said. The doors opened to find two small children; a little girl with grey hair that had a face like the mother and a little boy with blonde hair that had a face like the father. Quite the pair.
They jumped onto the bed and started bouncing on the bed. "Easy!", both Winry and Ender said, chuckling a little. "We want to eat!", the children whined a little. "Alright alright. Just go to the kitchen and wait for us", she said. They nodded as they ran out. Winry sighed as she ran a hand through her hair. "What little cute pains in the butts", she muttered as she looked at him with a smile. Ender smirked. "They get it from you", he remarked. She rolled her eyes. "Hilarious", she said as she got up and kissed his cheek, starting to get dressed. Ender sighed happily as he stood up and stretched, getting dressed to get ready for the day.
Ender sighed as he laid back on the couch, watching some TV to make him feel like he was doing something. He had little to no friends in his life and he wanted to keep it that way. He didn't like getting attached to people and making his life harder for himself. It would just hurt him and others. As he was watching, he heard a knock on the door.
He rolls his eyes, sighing as he got up and slowly went to the door. He opened it to find a beautiful and young blonde and long-haired woman with blue eyes that seemed to pierce straight into him. She was smiling a little at him and it made his heart faint a little. He blushed hard and was a little taken aback. "Hello...", Ender said quietly. "Hello!", the woman replied back. "I think I accidentally got your mail and it was addressed to here. Sorry about that!", she said, looking down a bit as she rubbed the back of her head, giving a bit of an embarrassed smile and a slight blush.
"Anyway, here you go!", she said as she handed it to him. "Oh...thanks", he said as he took it. She seemed to look at him for a bit, her head tilted a bit in observation. It made him feel uncomfortable. "What's your name?", she suddenly asked. It took him a couple of seconds to answer. "Ender...", he replied. "Nice to meet you, Ender. My name's Winry" She extended out her hand. He looks at it a moment before gently taking it and shaking it. It was smooth and warm to the touch...
She smiled at him. "Well, I gotta get going. I'll see you around!", she said as she turned around and left his porch, Ender being left a bit befuddled. Before she completely left, she turned around and waved at him, making him wave back a little awkwardly. As he closed the door, he couldn't help but want to know her. But it was better if he didn't.
-A few days later-
As Ender was heading back from his job, he opens his mailbox to find some letters that he never saw before. Checking the address, he noticed that the mail wasn't his. He let out an annoyed sigh. Now he had to find a person that he didn't want to deal with and give them their mail. More work.
He took the mail and headed out to the house nearby as he went to the mailbox and opened it, wanting to put it inside. That is, until someone behind him said, "Uh...hello?", she said. Ender turned around abruptly before he found Winry looking at him in a confused manner. "O-oh...uh...your mail was found in my mailbox...so...I came to give it back...", he said quietly. He hands it out to her as she takes it. "Oh...thanks!", she said, smiling a little. She looked him over. "You coming from somewhere?", she asked. "Work", he said. She nods in understanding. She was carrying some grocery bags that looked rather heavy for her. He didn't know why he spoke up, but his instinct came in as he offered, "Do you need help with that?", he asked her. She looks at her bags and chuckles. "Oh no no no. I'm fine, thank you" She tried to move a bit. Now he was obligated. "Please. Let me help" He takes some of her bags, finding no trouble in it as he carried it to her house. She sighs a little in relief. "Thank you..."
Once they got to the house, she opens the door as he heads inside. Her house was rather beautiful. Simple, but stunning. He was surprised by the architecture. She must have a really hard-working job to make this kind of money. "Leave it in the kitchen, please?", she asked. Ender quickly leaves it on the table in the kitchen, still taken aback by the house around him. She smiles as she noticed this. "Yeah. It pays to be a mechanic", she mused as she looked around, herself. "Oh wow. You must be really good at what you do", he muttered. She laughed. "Thanks. What do you do?", she asked him back. He looks at her. Ender never really talked about his job. He always kept to himself about his career since no one asked, which he preferred. "I'm a composer", he said. Her eyes lit up. "Wow! That must be amazing to be in the line of music!", she breathed. Ender blushed and chuckled a bit at that, finding it cute. Ender hadn't felt like this in a while. It felt...nice. "Say, I have to unpack this stuff and prepare some food" Ender nodded, feeling a little disappointed. "But...I hope we can do something like this another time", she said, blushing a little as she looked at him with a small smile. Ender blushed deeply at that. Was she...asking him on a date? Ender had little to no experience with people in general, let alone women. "Uh...how about tomorrow night at 6? You can come by my place" She smiles. "Sure. Sounds fun...see you around", she said. Ender nodded as he headed out. "Wait!", she said. Before he headed out the door, he turned around to find his body being embraced into a hug. He blushes darker as he slowly hugged her back. "Thanks for helping me, Ender", she said. "N-no problem...", he said back.
-A few months later-
The relationship was slow, but steady. He rather liked being with someone like her. She was cute, funny, smart, and tough. Even though his social skills were minuscule, she kind of knew that he was shy. And, to his belief, she found that rather cute. The thought that she liked someone like him was still beyond him. He was also learning to be more comfortable with her being in his personal space. He enjoyed the closeness...it was new and warm. He held her closely as they watched the movie at his house. The blankets were warm, but she was warmer and he snuggled closer. She smiled as she accepted it and cuddled back. It was moments like these that made his life worth living, for once. Somewhere near the end of the movie, it suddenly flashed off. Ender blushed as he looked at her, finding her holding the remote with her finger on the power button. Why did she turn it off? "You okay?", he asked her. Winry smiled at him, not saying anything. She then kisses his lips tenderly, making Ender stare at her with his eyes wide, making him blush hard. She kissed him on the lips every now and then, but it was still something that he was unused to. He slowly kissed back as he closed his eyes. Things started to get a little heated as she wrapped her arms around his neck, his arms going around her waist. Suddenly, she pulled away, her face lightly flustered as she panted lightly. "Come on...I want to show you something", she said quietly as she got up. He blushes as he looked at her. Her body was beautiful to every curve and facet of skin that was shone on her. She wore shorts and a tank-top since she was lazy to wear something nice. He blushes and nods silently as he stood up. She takes his hand as she guides him down the hallway of his house. Soon, they reached his bedroom. Ender blushed darker and darker, realizing what she was implying. He looks at her. She only smiled at him, blushing as dark as him. "...are you sure?", he asked her. She only smiled more widely, which made his heart flutter. She gently stroked his hair, a pleasantness to its touch. "I've never been in my whole life...", she whispered as she kissed him deeply, to which he happily returned. She brings him inside as she closes the door.
-A few months later-
It was a nice and warm night. Winry decided that it was nice to walk back to their place. Ender couldn't have agreed more as he held her hand, going down the soaked sidewalks. It rained a bit earlier, but it was gone now. As they walked, they decided to cut through a small alley to get to their house. Once they passed by a dumpster, a man appeared in front of them with a pistol in his hand. "Gimme your money. Both of you", he rasped. Ender immediately held his hands up. Winry glared at him. "Fuck you", she said. Ender looked at her. "Honey. Please don't be a hero. Just give it to him" It was just money. It could be earned back. She looked at him, confused. "No! I'm not giving this asshole anything!", she yelled. The man walked up to her, his gun turning sideways. "Shut the fuck up and give me the money, bitch!" Ender was tempted to punch him, but he was holding a gun. He didn't want Winry hurt. "NO!", she yelled as she grabbed his gun. They started to struggle. Ender joined in and tried to punch the man. When he did, the pistol discharged and made a loud shot. The man ran off. Ender looked at Winry. Her face was in shock as she stared off in the distance. She looked down. There was a hole in her chest. Ender's heart sank. "Oh no...", he muttered. Winry's legs gave in as she slowly fell. Ender quickly caught her as he laid her down. "Winry. You're going to be okay, okay?", he told her. Winry panted a bit in pain, grunting a little as she gripped his hand tightly. Ender could feel her fading heat from their gloves. "Hold on. I'll call 911" He quickly made the call. "E...Ender...", she muttered. He ran over to her. "It's okay, sweetie. They're coming now", he said with a hopeful smile, some worried tears in his eyes. She smiled at him as she reached up and gently stroked his cheek. Ender gently held her hand as some tears flowed down his cheek. "Ender...please know...that being with you...has been the best days of my entire life..." Ender's heart sank some more. "Wh-what are you talking about? You're going to be fine. Just hold on for me, okay?", he said, his voice sounding desperate. "You are the most amazing person I've ever met...and I love you forever...you are my moon..." More tears. Damn this woman. "Winry. Please. Stop. You're going to be okay. Please", his voice coated in desperation. She couldn't do this to him. She just couldn't. She smiled lightly as she looked up at the fading stars above them. "...I'm sorry...", she muttered quietly as she closed her eyes. Suddenly, her face relaxed. "No...no, you can't!", he said. He starts performing CPR to try and wake her. "Please! Winry! Don't do this to me!", he yelled, his face becoming a stream of tears. He kisses her, shakes her, tries anything to get her to wake up. He starts wailing and crying loudly as he hugged her against him, crushing her limp body into the hug as he cried into her hair. He would never see again. She wouldn't be with him ever again. She was gone from his life. And it pained him. The ambulance sirens were heard nearby.
-A few years later-
Ender stared deeply into his beer bottle, trying to think about anything but her. But the only love of his life. Why did she ever come into his life? He vowed to never get involved with other people. He knew that it would just end in hurt. And it happened. He shook his head as he gulped down the bottle. Thankfully, this was the first of many to come as he sat in the bar.
Then again, if he never met her, he would have never felt this happy. She helped him out of his comfort zone. Despite the pain and suffering he had to endure after her death, she helped him experience life. He felt more comfortable being out of his house now. For that, he was thankful. Before he was about to order another bottle, he looked to his right as he felt a pair of eyes on him. He looked to see a rather attractive and beautiful woman, sitting on the bar with a cigarette in her hand and a glass of alcohol in the other. She was smiling a little at him and it made Ender feel something he hadn't felt in a while; that same discomfort that very first day. She shook her head. "Sorry...I was a bit distracted. You're just a very handsome man...but are you okay? You seem a bit...hurt", she said. Ender shook his head. "That's not even the half of it...but, thanks for your concern...", he said, trying to be aloof. But, Winry wouldn't want that from him. She wanted him to continue the life that she would no longer live. Ender looked back at the woman as he moved over to her. She smiled as she tapped her cigarette and put it out. "So uhm...what's your name?", he asked her. "Dante", she said quietly with a small smile. Another beautiful smile. "Ender...", he said as he extended her arm out to her. She smiled more as she gently took it. Ghosts appear and fade away.
