When Winter woke up, they felt odd. Different. Strange.
They went over the possible causes of this. They didn’t have a nightmare, unless they forgot. They didn’t do anything to make them sore yesterday. And it wasn’t the chronic pain they occasionally got from their heavy metal arms, as there was no pain to speak of.
This line of questions was almost immediately answered as they looked around their room - halfway through being decorated, it seemed, they’d have to complete that task later - and on their nightstand spotted a journal. It was a pretty simple looking journal, but when they flipped it open it had a bunch of odd notes.
They flipped through the pages. Their handwriting, for the most part, aside from a few corrections and little notes here and there, though they didn’t recognize the new handwriting. Most of it didn’t seem too far fetched, considering how their life with Hemlock and Misty had been so far, and the little chart was informative. The parts they could understand, at least.
The most intriguing category, to them, was the ‘Ask Hemlock?’ Category. There was also a note from someone named Fur. The note was in the same handwriting as some of the edited parts of their notes, it seemed. They’d have to ask who that was, alongside the other questions in the category.
They went to Hemlocks door, assuming he was in his room right now, and knocked. They had the journal and the chart tucked under one of their arms, and a sense of curiosity that wouldn’t be easily brushed off.
There's a loud banging noise of something getting knocked over and a muffled curse before Hemlock yells out "One second!"
After a moment he opens the door, quickly kicking a large, child sized bag, under his bed. He gives Winter a smile.
