WINTER TIPS FROM AN ALASKAN
HEY YALL, I HEARD THAT SOME OF YOU GUYS MIGHT END UP HAVING SUPER COLD WEATHER HIT SO HERE ARE A FEW THINGS THAT SHOULD HELP KEEP YALL WARM
Fleece lined leggings fit perfectly underneath jeans, and you’re gonna want 2-3 layers for pants when you do outside
Get yo selves some wool socks, and thick wool socks because they will keep your toes warm
ALWAYS WEAR YOUR GLOVES OUTSIDE BECAUSE YOUR HANDS WILL FREEZE UP IF THEY ARE NOT PROTECTED.
Keep being outside to a minimum if you can
Get wintercoats with windbreakers on them to help combat wind chill.
You will want face masks, so hats, scarves and ski masks are super helpful in this department, use all three to stay toasty.
If you start getting cold go inside as soon as you can.
If you’re not protected, you will get frostbite and for people not accustomed to cold weather, it will not be good for you.
If you get cold, numb, and then start getting hot, that’s really really bad and you need to get inside ASAP so you don’t do any damage to your nerves.
FYI, if you get frostbite once, it will be a lot easier for that area to get frostbite again and it can cause even more damage.
Keep spare blankets and winter supplies in your vehicles in case they break down so you can still be warm while waiting for help.
IT IS SO SO SO IMORTNTANT TO AVOID BODIES OF WATER WITH ICE, ESPECIALLY RIVERS BECAUSE FROZEN RIVERS ARE EXREMELY DANGEROUS BECAUSE IF YOU FALL IN, THE CURRENT WILL PULL YOU UNDER. REFRAIN FROM VISITING ANY FROZEN AREAS OF WATER.
