At least in Marie-Byrd Land, you’ll see Winterbeings owning businesses but you’d be hard pressed to see them working in them, doing the jobs you or I might consider “mundane.” You especially won’t see winterbeing domestic servants.

Some brave Christmas elves would rather risk living amongst them for the chance of a better life, the same goes for other less privileged supernaturals who can stand the cold.

There’s a clear separation in their society that keeps Winterbeings associated with wealth and excess long after Suzy and her money

I think when winterbeings become a widespread species there would be a bit of a passport bro phenomenon like we have in real life

Monster men around the world hear that Winterbeing women are raised with etiquette, femininity, submissiveness to their male counterparts and think they’ll be a perfect made to order bride…

…only to find out that they absolutely do not measure up to a male of her species in her eyes and she is going to treat them like literal dogshit 💀

An ask to help you get ur mind off things; what's your favorite bit of lore regarding winter people, like regarding anything?

A gorey one…or two:

1. Some winterbeings prefer to make ice spikes on their tongues during meals, these are analogous to the texture of a big cats tongue

which in real life can lick a persons flesh to the bone.

2. I’ve never really talked about how winterbeings *ahem* dispose of their bodily waste, I do have a concrete answer but I’m not now either lol. Part of that process is the nature of their stomach acid. Their insides are immune to it but otherwise it’s basically the kind of acid you see in flesh melting body horror movies. If you’re ever holding a fussy winterbeing baby that just ate you should set them down or you may not have a face in a few seconds.

Others:

The uncanny nature of frostbitten means that winterbeing babies generally are drawn more to other things of that nature that would frighten human children. This is a double edged sword; on one hand this means they get themselves into danger sooner and easier than human children, on the other hand even the most compassionate winterbeings have trouble being fully comfortable around warmer (emotionally) species, especially in their expressions and body language.

This doesn’t mean they can’t be warm of course. The hallmark of a winterbeing family is game of thrones-esque mind games but also genuine loyalty to each other, not to mention they love parties! Obviously there’s the hedonism and greed but they genuinely do just go all out and have fun when it comes to special occasions. Anything is a special occasion to them really. Their raucous partying has been known to cause some pretty intense blizzards!
