chanty’s summer sendoff // tier three: headcanon + moodboard // prompt: bucky and wanda on the beach

- a vacation. he’s not against the idea at all, but the way wanda’s entire face lights up, even deep down in the darkest corners of her eyes, makes it all the more exciting. she suggests it while she’s standing over him and cutting the long locks of his hair, biting down on her lower lip, almost holding her breath as if there’s a chance he would even consider telling this girl “no.” she wants to go somewhere bright and quiet and warm, somewhere beautiful, and so that’s how bucky finds himself on a private beach courtesy of steve, with wanda tugging him into the water without giving him a chance to actually strip down to his swim shorts. not that he minds. not that he even notices anything but how her laughs sound lighter and louder in the quiet strip of paradise they’ve made for themselves. her lips taste like the fruity cocktail one of the resort workers brought them, and her skin tastes like sea salt and sunshine when he licks a line up her throat and relishes in her delighted squeals as she tries to wiggle herself out of his hold before he can dump her into the ocean. she hops on his back and he carries them as far out into the water as he can go, and she kisses him right there, in the middle of the ocean, with her lips smiling against his as her sneaky little fingers work their way down his chest and under the waistband of his shorts. he doesn’t stop her. he doesn’t want to. not when she’s warm and pliant and happy, so fucking happy right there, being a little reckless and wild on this beach neither of them remembers the name of.

later, when she’s curled on her side, practically falling asleep on the towel beside him, the both of them tucked into the shade of a large umbrella with the waves crashing softly just a few feet away from them, he asks if she wants to go back to the room. she smiles, her eyes still closed, pressing her face into his shoulder and tickling his skin with her hair as she latches herself onto him, and tells him that she’s good right where she is. and he ditches the paperback in his hand, not bothering to save his page as he rolls them over and onto their sides, buries his face into her hair and thinks that, yeah. he’s pretty damn perfect right where he is, too.
