Everyone knows that a hundred years ago, the gods abandoned Tormarre, leaving it’s people alone, their fate unguided by the hands of the divine. The people of Tormarre never recoverd from this blow, becoming isolated and proud of their independence.
The current king has raised the nobility high, ignoring the common people. Princes Marisa, twin to Prince Marcus, only wants what’s best for her people. If that means convincing her father that she is the best choice to inherit the throne, so be it. If it means pretending to be aloof and cruel, she will do it. If it means bringing back the gods to Tormarre, giving herself a holy army, then she has her goal. And if it means marrying, she’ll do so.
The last thing she expects is to fall in love.
