He furrowed, and after sipping on his glass, he nodded.
“Why are you still single?”
The smirk on his face was something brought from heaven. It looked angelical, but you could see something was hidden behind it.
“I think I haven’t clicked with my other dates.” You tried to play dumb, but you knew he was not being as honest as you wanted.
“But, being honest. I need more than that, Bucky.”
The expression on his face changed immediately.
“It’s just that. Not really something I can control. We were never a match.”
His voice was harsh—and that was it. You had always been short-tempered, but somehow, he ignited in you something that you weren’t capable of deciphering yet.
“What is it?” You pushed again.
When he didn’t answer, you nodded. Knowing well you weren’t going to receive a clear answer, you stood up, gathered your things, and before you could even mumble your farewells, his stern eyes stopped you on the spot.
“Sit.” He ordered.
You knew that voice tone. You knew exactly where that kind of voice came from.
