Angel smile softly and a bit sympathetically. She imagined there weren’t many people out there Gaige could say that about, but she was glad to be among them. It was sad, in a way, that Angel of all people was counted as one of few who understood the mechromancer.

Zer0 watched the quick play of emotion on her face and decided not to comment for the time being. Things had been... a bit strained with Gaige for a while after she’d left Sanctuary and the last thing they wanted was to make things more strained or awkward when she’d shown up for a visit.

So they just chuckled when she poked at them, nothing but wiry muscle under the suit to give to her touch.

“Well Moxxi does try. Her pizza is pretty great, just not great for me.” And she always gave them the worst pout when they just picked off some of the toppings and ate that instead of the whole pizza. At least she’d started giving them slices loaded with mushrooms, which seemed to be their favorite. Zer0 ate those the most anyway.

“You are looking well. It is nice to see you here, I missed you a lot.” They reached out and tugged gently at the end of one of her ponytails, a <3 flashing onto the visor.

“Food can be on me?” Zer0 could be nice sometimes too, when not busy being a dick.

Talia ran as fast as she could to the exit, which was rather hard considering the amount of trash and rocks that were scattered on the ground. She was lucky she didn’t trip or anything. Once they exited and seemed to be in a safe distance, the explosion went off, making the structures behind them collapse. It was quite the explosion. “Jeez...that was a close one.” Talia panted as she looked back.

They were lucky they got out of there in time. There would be no way anybody would have survived this. Talia almost felt a bit sorry for the poor devils who didn’t have the chance to escape. “What a fucking lunatic. Would rather blow himself up than get captured.” she said, still looking at the remains of what was  a bandit camp just a few seconds ago. She now turned her attention to the young woman. “You’re okay?” she asked.

It was still where Audrey felt trapped that and she felt at fault for setting off the ambush anyways. Seeing all of these loaders around and now surrounded just set off some sort of train in her head. 

[...Not going back. I said I wouldn’t go back.] It might have been more or less to herself. Her hands on the sides of her head with unfocused grey wisps trailing off her skin.

Relaxing was the last thing Angel could do. She hadn’t really been able to afford the luxury for some time, but now she wasn’t sure she could even go back to her previous state of unease. She’d made a mistake, a big one by all accounts, and now she had to explain it, to justify everything she’d done. The rapid pacing wasn’t helping her think any, but it did keep her from having to look Gaige in the face. They both looked so different now, that much was clear; maybe it meant Gaige would be able to understand her. Maybe.

“Listen,” she said finally. She had no words prepared, though, and wrung her hands together furiously while she thought of something. “I don’t know where to begin.” Angel grimaced. She was off to a great start. “I just... I thought it would be better for everyone if I was dead. And then I didn’t die and... you all thought I did. After everything that happened, I thought, y’know...” She shrugged, heaving a frustrated sigh. Turning on the ball of her foot to pace the other direction, she snuck a glance at Gaige, hoping to tell if she was keeping up or to see how angry she was. “Y’know...”

“ are we the last ones alive ? ” (Gaige; has Ave killed anyone before?)

“I really hope so.” Everything about Avery was shaking: her voice, her legs as she crawled out from her cover, her hands holding the only gun she owned. It was inherited, as were most of her things, kept as a safety measure but never used before. She’d made it this far just by keeping to herself, flying under the radar as well as she could. It couldn’t last forever, though, much to her chagrin.

She heard something as she stood--a growl? Whatever it was, it wasn’t normal, and it made Avery scream, turning suddenly and pulling the trigger impulsively into the face of a bleeding bandit. He fell, leaving her wide eyed and splattered with blood. 

“G-Got it. I got ‘im.”
