When I had started my Destiny journey 7 years ago, I eventually ran into my first major hurdle as I attempted to get better: King’s Fall. A six-encounter long raid that was known for breaking fireteams wide open. It took me a full year to entirely complete that raid at the time. It wore me thin so many times.
At that time, I was a lost, depressed, and angry boy. So torn between the knowledge that my outsides didn’t match my insides and bashing against a family that didn’t accept me as I was. Struggling with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and trauma that I didn’t know I had. I bashed my head against that raid for a full year, suffering angry fireteams, Bungie errors, personal rage, bad LFG’s, and Oryx himself until I finally beat it during Rise of Iron.
Today, 5 years later, feeling more self-assured than I’ve ever felt, a fully realized pre-HRT transgirl who’s proud to be aceflux, bisexual, and polyamorous, a girl who believes in herself despite her mental issues and had finally come to terms with her trauma, armed with her trusty Wish Ender in hand as a fully fledged Warlock, faced down King’s Fall one more time in Destiny 2.
And beat it on the second day it was out. ;)
