My first project for this year is done! ❤️ I wanted to re-read and try my hand at painting the siblings from Age of Fire series by E.E. Knight again after many many years. Here they are! AuRon, Wistala and RuGaard.

Wistala Irelianova
The bestest girl; one of the main characters from the Age of Fire series. In my opinion, the best one ;)
Day 1 of Smaugust: from a book
Went for Wistala from Age of Fire. Good strong female dragon character <3
I was stuck on who to draw for so long that I ended up just going with her and making it sorta low effort so I could move on to other days I'm more excited for.
thinking about... them..
i will say the copper is still my favorite of the three, but i did enjoy wistala's book more this time around than i remember from my first read (many years ago). largely this was because of yari-tab. babygirl :3
yari-tab is described as orange but also as having black paws? so i settled on "mostly orange calico" bc i couldn't figure out how else to make it make sense
Anyways Wistala is awesome and I’d like to be her friend
I’ve been reading like a fiend, blazing through the Age of Fire series. Just finished book three, waiting on the rest of them to ship to me so I can finish the series. Because I’ve still got dragons on the brain, here are the Siblings, AuRon, Wistala and RuGaard (The Copper, though I don’t know why the book insists on referring to him as such when he now has a proper name). I hope I was able to give them a little more personality than the cover art does. They seem a little too alike on the covers for my taste.
Wistala from Age of Fire by E.E. Knight <3
At first I really disliked the sexual dimorphism of dragons in Age of Fire, but I’m halfway through the second book and now I think I get it: they’re birds.
-Female dragons are all green. Female birds have duller feathers than male birds.
-In fact, many male dragons have bright, colorful scales that females find attractive. Male birds have bright feathers they use to attract mates.
-And even more obvious, female dragons choose their mates by a having the male dragons sing to them (!!!)
