How did the emperor take the news of Cirilla's "death"?
Angry? Devastated? Denial?
When I saw how he looked in the Witcheress Ending, I swear I could hear something break within him and the aforementioned three reactions melded into this one look.
An old old png vanilla shot given to me by xLetalis, enhanced in PS and with a PS4 BG screenshot.
I'm taking a break from resuming my fic A Painting of You (the last 2 chapters of this trilogy is there, just needed a re-write). Instead, I'll make short story (a ficlet?) of my headcanon: the reconciliation between the Witcheress Ciri and her father Emperor Emhyr var Emreis.
This is not new. I have posted this story on my tumblr page- which is now gone after I corrected my profile name. I will, however expound on said reconciliation on AO3, maybe one long chapter, just to get this idea running amok in my head into the wilds. Why did I decide to tackle this instead of continuing with my main fic? Well, I read a lot of headcanons, ficlets, drabbles, and those in turn inspired me to create one of my own.
This is my headcanon, my fan-fiction. It's not for everyone, but it is shared freely.
Also this story happened within the events of my main fic.

I do not have the mod capabilities since I play console. I like this scene how Emhyr kept his face turned away from Geralt to hide the sadness/pain he felt. You cannot run an empire with your heart. Foltest learned that the hard way. Still, to tell him his daughter died, not a decision I like to deliver. After all, I am a Nilfgaardian at heart.
Finally got around to finishing up The Witcher III, and christ did they scare me to death with that ending.
Got the Witcher ending with Ciri. I did not know that they fake-deathed her with Emhyr and lost my shit.
But now my grumpy dad and bubbly daughter can roam about the continent fighting monsters. All is good in the realm.
On to the DLCs.
