her fingernails are framed with dirt as she rummages through the undergrowth. Damp dark patches mark the knees on her britches and her rear but she doesn't seem to mind. ringlets of dark hair fall before her face as she plucks large white mushrooms from the ground, she places them in a scrap of cloth she plants to tie at her waist when she’s done. Maybe she’ll fry them up with some lentils and rice.. or maybe a nice soup. slender dirty fingers tuck a curl of dark hair behind her ear as she pauses, hearing the snapping of stems and twigs behind her.
