with @sarastuss, din and sarastus. — i believe you promised me you'd lay low. / for din, and she can say it just a little teasingly
he's pretty embarrassed in this moment, and thanks the mercy of his helmet for the protection of his feelings. sarastus cannot see the meek expression on din's face, and will never note the shame in his gaze or the frustration pinpointed against the squint of his eyes. everything goes unseen, untouched, as his visor slowly tilts up to see her. within this cauldron of darkness and damp air, the walls thick and the ground dirty with blood and mud, she is a drastic, radiant difference. how did she break in? "you made it just in time," din finally says. his voice is tinny and quiet. when he shifts against the wall, the chains on his wrists make light, metal sounds. he hopes the noise alone will signal what he needs from sarastus. then, after a brief silence... "they took him." if sarastus could see his face now, she'd gape at the pain in din's eyes. "they took the kid. he's somewhere in this building. i need to find him." another subtle way of saying free me from these chains. "i'll help with whatever business you have here," he goes on, and suddenly din's voice sounds hollow, like he's about to beg. for the child? he just might. "just... help me find him." another rustle of the chains. "that's all i ask."
