Jerusalem Jerusalem…. was the song playing as we entered Jerusalem on the Gateway to Jerusalem highway.
And I wept.
My dearest daddy would sing this to us in his rich tenor as if he were the lead in an opera. He also loved Israel, especially Jerusalem in my heart I heard him singing along with us.
Oh how I miss him!
Let me back up to earlier in the day: Ein Gedi, Masada & Arad. I fell in love with Ein Gedi Kibutz and I will be back.
Masada was mind blowing for real! The design, the storage facilities & the vision to create a city on a mountain top, with so much detail, was truly phenomenal! The story of Masada too is deeply moving. Also the heat on the top was at melting temperatures, but the cleverly designed areas to catch the breezes as they come up gave some respite as we read and absorbed the ancient way of living on Masada.
Arad was very hot and many among us stayed on the bus instead of burning some more in the sun. However it was an interesting place, but I must confess that I need to study the literature (or google) to get the full picture of Arad!
Then our long drive to Jerusalem to get there in peek hour traffic and in tears too!
See you on tomorrow’s blog!
