Even though I’m currently finished with all of the reference sheets for all of the main characters in my planned Starboard comic, I am busy writing an outline for the overall story. It’s taking a while needless to say. I just finished the script outline for the chapter featuring my lumberjack wolf couple Witla and Timb, and I felt like drawing a little prequel comic about them and their marriage in the meantime. That and I’m just itching to draw something right now!

I want to ink this comic traditionally and color it with watercolors, but I’m not sure how successful that will turn out, so I might have to wind up drawing it digitally. In any case, here’s a preview of some of the rough layout I did this morning.

Finally, I’ve got the reference sheets finished for all of the main and side characters for my planned Starboard comic! I’ve got a few creatures, items, and a couple vehicles that I’ll still need to make refs for eventually, but I probably won’t post those online since a lot of those are plot-crucial and would spoil things for potential readers.

Anyway, these wolves are the second married couple in my Starboard series (the first being Mara’s parents). They are Timb and Witla and they work as carpenters: Timb is a lumberjack and Witla is a woodworker/sculptor. They not only cut and sell wood for use in ship repairs, but also more decorative pieces like furniture. As the title conveys, they are newly married and their business is fairly new as well.
