Contemporary San Diego Engagement + WIUP
I’m just going to come appropriate about and say it – this San Diego duo is very easily a single the most fashionable couples we’ve ever come across. It is what takes place when two creatives (him a photographer, her a producer) fall in really like, and the snaps from Studio Castillero pretty much speak for themselves. Have a peek in the gallery and keep scrolling for this week’s lucky winners!

From the Bride-to-be… One of the initial items my fiancé, James, and I did when we got engaged was book our photographers. As each of us operate in innovative fields, he’s a photographer and I’m a producer, it was important for us to find individuals who’s work was distinctive, fun, and interesting. That is why we knew we had to go with the brilliantly talented photographers at Studio Castillero. In planning with them on where we should do our engagement session, we decided to shoot at two spots: our downtown San Diego loft that was converted from a 100-year-previous church, and our wedding ceremony venue, The San Diego Museum of Art.
Regarding the spots, we made a decision to use our loft for a few causes, the most apparent becoming that we love our residence and it is the place we really feel most cozy. Yet another explanation was that we needed some thing exclusive to us as a couple (who does not?). I suggest, how many folks dwell in a converted historical church and have their bedroom in a former confessional booth (complete with hefty 20 ft. tall doors with slats that open and shut in the middle)? It appeared fitting that whilst we’re not receiving married in a church, we could at least contain one particular in anything wedding ceremony relevant.
The next cause is that if we shot at property we could include our dog, Whiskey (or as we like to phone him, Whiskey Mittens) in the photograph shoot. Boy, did he ham it up! When we normally consider to get pictures of him he typically finds a way to move right when the shutter goes off, but the minute Megan and Brent start off shooting you’d think he was born to be a puppy model. Seemingly, this was his shoot and his people have been just their as supporting cast members. The last explanation is that it gave us a (semi) legitimate explanation to jump on the bed, simply because effectively, why not?
Right after thirty minutes of shooting in and about our loft we headed above to our soon-to-be wedding venue, The San Diego Museum of Artwork. When we arrived we created a bee-line for entrance. If any individual has ever been to Balboa Park they know that there are about twenty wedding ceremony related events going on at any offered second, specifically for the duration of sunset. On our short walk up to the methods, we passed 3 other couples undertaking their engagement shoots. Once we made it up to the front entrance, chilled as I was in my slightly ripped dress, I grabbed James’ hand and stared at the signal. It was emotional and thrilling and I believe that came by way of in the photos.
I have to say, I think that is what is so great about our photos. Even though this location is quite well-known, Megan and Brent did an outstanding job making our images feel distinctive and special. Their photos properly convey the tone for us as a couple and for what our wedding ceremony will be. Every time I seem at our images, me in a white dress and James in a suit, in front of our venue I cannot help but get a flutter of excitement for our big day and I couldn’t help but want to share our praise for Megan and Brent’s phenomenal photos.
