Some WoF Soulmate Ideas/Prompts!

Note: This was originally for Qinter, but I changed it so it could be done with any of the characters! Winter -> Person A and Qibli-> Person B

This honestly doesn’t even have to be Wings of Fire. It’s broad enough to work with anyone I think. Like pick a fandom and it probably works

Additional note: I posted this on Ao3, abandoned it, reposted it, then got my work taken down. So. yeah.

A soulmate au where your soulmates name is written on your wrist. The color indicates the relationship you will have. Red means romantic (lovers), Blue means platonic (friends), and purple means it could go either way. The name only appears when you are 16 years old. If a soulmate dies, the name will turn black. Soulmates can be one-sided. The only way to get forcefully rid of them is through magic, but they can't be replaced/brought back.

The main plot would be that Person A would turn 16, and Person B's name turns up in purple on their wrist.

Person A freaks out because: (any of these options)

1.) Their parents aren't supportive of them being friends with anyone, especially if they're from other tribes.

2.) Their parents are homophobic/have something else against a relationship

3.) They don’t want Person B to find out. (An additional problem could be that they thought they were straight (if it’s a mlm or wlw relationship), gay (if it’s a hetero relationship), or even aro/ace (no romantic and/or sexual attraction)

4.) Most of their tribe/family don't have soulmates, and in that group of people soulmates are looked down upon (which would probably cause Person A to have a mental breakdown, which could also factor into the plot)

5.) They have major trust issues

6.) They thought their soulmate would be someone else

This can be either really fluffy or really angsty.

If you want fluff:

1.) It turns out that Person B already knew because they were 16

2.) Person B was 15 with a massive crush on Person A and/or really wants to be their BFF and is overjoyed when they find out.

And for angst:

1.) Person B is already 16 and knows Person A's name is on their wrist, but Person A covers their wrist (with something idk), Person B thinks it's one-sided. This causes Person B to become very depressed wonder why they;re unworthy of getting a soulmate that isn't one-sided. This can either end with a happy ending or a sad one.

A.) Person B finds out the truth and is overjoyed, probably the best hurt/comfort ending

B.) Person B doesn't find out the truth and decides to cut contact with Person A or lashes out against them, driving them apart

2.) Person B is Person A's soulmate but Person B doesn't have a soulmate. This breaks Person A's heart because even though their parents/tribe didn’t approve and/or they were in denial at first, they still wanted a soulmate. (platonic or otherwise). This causes them to be even more closed off. This can go multiple ways,

A.) Person B didn't have a soulmate but still loved Person A, so Person A pulling away broke Person B's heart.

B.) Person B thinks that they did something wrong and that’s why Person A is being more cold/closed off. This causes them to be closed off themself and push everyone away. This can be even better if Person B didn't know they were Person B's soulmate

C.) Person B doesn’t even care. (He doesn't believe in soulmates or he never felt the same way towards Person A) Person A's reaction can be whatever you want. (This also leaves the option for hurt/eventual comfort)

3.) EVEN WORSE: Person B's soulmate is someone else (and is reciprocated)

A.) Person A cuts contact with Person B and whoever their soulmate is

B.) Person A tries to get rid of the name on their wrist but doesn't know how / doesn't want to give up his secret (and it’s up to you if he does or not)

C.) Person B doesn’t like their soulmate and wants to be soulmates/friends/together with Person A, and tries to get rid of their soulmate

And of course, if you want to do a different option than any listed above that’s perfectly fine!!!!! No pressure to stick with the exact prompt!!

Wings of Fire human headcanons- but this time, ANGSTY :(

(These are not modern hcs, so most of them are not canon in my fanfiction, only in this blog's au)

*TRIGGER WARNING, SOME OF THESE ARE EXTREMELY DARK*

Peril has learned to recognize the sound of Scarlet’s heels clicking on the ground, and whenever she hears anything that resembles them, she internally panics, thinking that Scarlet is somehow back to hurt her friends.

Qibli has a wild imagination, and he likes to make up scenarios in his head where his mother had actually loved him, or hadn’t sold him to Thorn. Although he’s forever loyal to Thorn, part of him still wishes his family loved him back.

Kinkajou has scars all over her body, especially her arms- these are from the nightwing island, when they would take tissue samples for experiments or punish her for struggling and trying to escape multiple times. Whenever anyone asks about them, she makes a joke about how clumsy and unbalanced she is, and says the scars are from her constantly tripping or falling.

Moon wonders whether she should have actually given her friends the skyfire, because although she respects their privacy, she constantly worries that one of them might die and she could have done something to prevent it with her mind reading. She wants to protect her friends more than anything, but at the same time doesn’t want to invade their privacy or lose their trust.

Winter has thought about un-aliving himself multiple times when he was still with his family in the Ice kingdom. Back then, the only thing that kept him from doing it was his determination to rise in the ranks and please them- even though he was always surrounded by people, he felt alone and thought the only two ways to change that were giving up on life or advancing his status. Most of the time, the latter seemed impossible.

Turtle’s biggest fear is dying alone, and it’s only made worse by the fact that he genuinely thinks it will happen. He tells himself that he’ll die as a disappointment and no one will even care, trying to accept it and move past the fear. But no matter how much he suppresses it, whenever he messes up there is a tiny voice in the back of his mind, whispering “what if you die tomorrow? Is this how they will remember you?”

Cricket was never invited to the family dinners, but each night, she would sit in her room, eating whatever leftovers she’d grabbed from the previous night, waiting for one of her “parents” to call her downstairs to eat. But they never even bothered to acknowledge her, just going on with the dinner without her, as they did with the rest of their lives.

Sundew worries about Willow much more than she makes obvious- when she was away on her journey through Pantala, she couldn’t stop stressing about Willow’s wellbeing, and often got ahead of herself imagining what could be going on back in the poison jungle.

Working on more musa and nana content! Finally back into drawing them!! ^^ (will be mostly angst ngl, their story gets pretty dramatic ^^* ) I can’t wait for you guys to see this!!! ^^ :D
