Dr. Nox has some things on his mind... Fortunately, his wife is able to help ease his stress.
A/N: Happy Birthday @soulheartthewolf! Caustic Apex Legends has feelings for you ^_^
Doctor Alexander “Caustic” Nox is known for many things. His war crimes, his noxious gas, his coffee that could wake up the dead, his size, his war crimes again… But something he isn’t known for very often, is being soft. Only two people knew about this side of him.
Wattson… And his wife, Kennedy.
During the off season, his days are filled with coffee, their three cats (Carbon, Oxygen and Perry), affection, and scientific pondering. In the penthouse they share, (and that Dr. Nox bought only because Kennedy asked nicely, batting those oh so pretty eyelids as well) life is exceedingly comfortable. If they don’t want to go out to the store, they can simply call the special grocery delivery drones exclusive to the legends participating in the games. And if so desired, they can have bodyguards provided by the syndicate when going out in public.
It’s a worry free life… for the most part.
This morning, Dr. Nox is up early, in nothing but his undies, standing in the living room and looking out the window at the city. This isn’t the usual position he’d be in at this hour, more often than not spending an hour or two cuddling (or doing more… fun things, if you know what I mean) with his wife.
He’s thinking. Thinking about their marriage. Thinking about how such a precious woman like Kennedy somehow fell in love with him, a war criminal with more death in his wake than the whole battle of Demeter. A man with the body of a pig and a voice that never seemed to be anything except monotone. A man whose only interest was science, and the type of science that gave him a body count, and not the fun kind.
However, just as he’s thinking of all this, he feels those soft arms wrap around that huge waist of his from behind, feeling as well that adorably beautiful face gently nuzzling his back.
“G’morning, Alex…” Kennedy sleepily greets him, with an audible smile. “What’s got you out here this early?”
He smiles softly, resting a hand on hers. “It’s nothing, honey,” He gently reassures her. “I’ll be back in the bedroom in just a moment.”
“Mmm, don’t lie to me, babe…” Her grip on his swollen midsection tightens a little, as she stands on her tiptoes to rest her chin on his shoulder. “Whatcha thinkin about…?”
He sighs, looking down. “I just…” He looks at her, and looks back out the window. “I find it challenging to believe that I was the person to catch your eye… it could have been anyone. Mr. Witt, Ms. Paquette, even Mr. Silva… why me?”
She blinks… and giggles, rotating around to his frontside. “Isn’t it obvious?”
This confuses him, looking down at her. “I’m sorry?”
“Not only are you one big teddy bear in bed… not only do you have a voice that sounds growly and as smooth as butter… but you have a heart as warm as summer and a mind as sharp as a tack. You’re just…” She squeals a little bit, happily burying her face in his chest. “Mmm! I love you so much!”
This rather startles Dr. Nox, not expecting such an enthusiastic response. But, her antics make him smile, and he hugs her back. “I love you too, Kennedy…”
She pulls back, giving him a big kiss on those rough, yet soft lips of his. He kisses back, lifting her up a little bit. He feels Carbon rubbing against his leg, her soft fur making him feel just that little bit more loved, as a warm smile spreads over his face.
“So… wanna get back in bed?” Kennedy asked, with a mischievous giggle. “Maybe I can help relieve some stress, if y'know what I’m saying…” She winked, and Alex grinned in response.
“That sounds delightful,” He responds, with a little growl that he knew drove her crazy. He carries her back into the bedroom, ready to have some quality time with his wife for the rest of the morning.
