“Laura?”

Logan could smell the blood even before he reached the door. He hadn’t even been sure Laura would be here, but he had hope. The prison break happened while he was off crashing meetings and helping Jean. But whatever happened, his daughter was here and something had happened. 

There was a lot on his mind, too. Taking Jean home was important and now that it was all over, every emotion from earlier was starting to seep back in. He was.. tired. But after he called out Laura’s name he didn’t wait to open to door and find her.

There was now living proof that the prison break had been a success. At least one person made it out. However, he found himself being left with far more questions than he expected.

He made his way over to her, stopping a few feet away-- he didn’t want to get too close and invade her space. But.. she was coated in a layer of blood, just as he had suspected. And were those.. a few feathers? That in itself warranted some concern.

“What happened at the prison?”
