Wolverine (Gulo Gulo)
Wolverine with an extra tooth! Could be a retained deciduous incisor, but it's as big as the others.
I love this skull; wolverines are one of my favorites. This one came from Alaska where they are numerous enough that they aren't considered threatened.
It feels oddly strange and comforting to hold them in my paws
Gorgeous wolverine skull I was fortunate to get my paws on last year at the oddities and curiosities expo, I also got to touch wolverine fur for the first time as well! They had a head/cape skin and paw, they sadly weren't persevered very well as I would have also taken them home but it was still super cool to see and touch in person
Wolverine skull.
Wolverine skull being reclaimed by nature
wolverine has arrived!🤩

There are two other species native to the United States, the Black-footed Ferret (Mustela nigripes) and Sea Otter (Enhydra lutris), however these species are both highly protected so they are not legal to privately own under normal circumstances. Domestic Ferrets (Mustela putorius furo) are commonly kept in the US as pets but they are not native, being descended from European Polecats (Mustela putorius). Skunks were formerly considered to be mustelids but are now classified as a separate family, Mephitidae.
Every species together.
