129 Translation Progress

We have started work on 129 :) I know that this has been translated previously, but I checked in with @staciaanastaciaposts​ to see if it was fine for us to do it, and they gave the OK. 

Redoing the chapter isn’t a reflection on their skill/past work - but simply something that I wanted to do to help get better at translating. It’s all practice here, and none of us are native speakers, plus these are all fan translations, so it’s still a good chance to give it a go. It’ll be interesting to compare the two versions and see what is different (or even how close they are).

I mentioned before that sometimes OCR doesn’t work, and this chapter is a good example of it:

There were lots of parts where the text is on a background, so it’s actually very difficult for an OCR to grasp the text to output. 

When this happens, I will go through and handwrite the text, then pop it into my tablet to get the text out. 

Below is an example of my horrible, horrible handwriting. The handwriting app has absolutely no chill 😂 and will auto suggest a character if you write too slow, hence my messy-speed writing. (The gif is at real speed as well)

Despite my complaining, this actually works well for me as it gets me used to drawing the characters as practice for my Chinese classes~

I’ll be continuing work on the translations tomorrow. Be sure to check out Chapter 128 as well!

(Also, I got to play with an adorable python today after uploading 128 - I’ve hidden it under the spoiler bar incase people are afraid of snakes)

This is a Woma python. His name is Mr Wriggles and he is 3 years old. ♥‿♥

He is actually quite small for his age as he was undernourished. ಥ_ಥ He was seized by the Wildlife Department from his previous owner and now stays in a sanctuary. I spoke with his carer and she is unsure if they can release him as he has an injury on one side from being kept in a cage while growing up, but regardless he is doing much better now and is very healthy! 

He-was-so-smooth-to-pet.

nah. sparta’s dam and litter sister are moderately coated

but her sire and litter brother are.... magnificent

kind of a dumb question since i couldnt find anything on it, but are rabbits able to love in a similar way to dogs cats rats etc

not a dumb question!  i absolutely believe that rabbits can love like a cat or a dog, they just do it in their own special way.

i don’t like to say any animal is “like a cat or a dog”, but if i had to pick one that rabbits are closest to personality-wise, it’d be cats.  they’re more content to hang out in your general vicinity than in your lap.  a companionable distance that says ‘i like you, but i respect you to not invade your space.’  some bunnies like being next to you but not necessarily ON you y’know?  they can brux (grind their teeth together rhythmically that is similar to a cat’s purr and indicates contentedness,) and will lick/groom their owners to show affection too!  and of course one of the biggest indicators that a rabbits loves you is when they flop over on their sides in your presence - they ONLY do this when they’re 100% comfortable and feel safe.  it’s very heartwarming :p

It’s by luckyfoxknits on etsy and ravelry! It’s a chihuahua pattern but easy to size.

Yesterday was @bunnings day and to my surprise and delight @perthreptilecompany were having a critter display at our local store. Pythons galore plus a bobtail and a blue-tongue lizard.
