Months ago as we burrowed in our dens seeking things to do, how to adjust, entertain & educated ourselves & children, new ideas came up & we bent the wheels to adjust obviously. Drew Stone @stonefilmsnyc came up with his fantastic live shows of the The New York Hardcore Chronicles Page Which has been filling cups of history and updates of a music genre I am passionate about. The friendships of Women of the Pit, @womenofthepit Steven J. Messinas @hardcoreshutterbug photos, & more have grown of the history we shared growing up. One sponsor of this @NYHCCOMICS, I started peeking at because I love cartoons, anime, animation, comics myself... BUT also because Clementine has ADHD, sensory processing disorder, dyslexia and some major educational things we are trying to navigate. And graphic novels and comics are helping big time. So I just inquired & told owner Debo Da Pro @DeboDaPro about our situation, looking for birthday gifts. He had experience working with children of this nature & told me his backstory. This man went & curated a package according to her based on my explanation. Sending videos. Walking through the store and flipping through pages to see what would work. Basically taking the whole process from shop to mail to receipt. From Dobbs Ferry, NY on a busy Saturday. THE WHOLE PACKAGE WAS AMAZING. Today in school, Clementine stood in front of her class with one book on the projector... acted out the story, interpreted and read to her classroom. She was so proud of herself to do this for her birthday which is tomorrow. My heart exploded. Thank you Debo. You definitely were OUR “hero at home” today.
