These New York strip steaks cooked on a Traeger have the perfect amount of smoky flavor and tender, juicy meat. As the steaks cook, the high heat from the Traeger pellet grill caramelizes the outside and gives them a delicious wood-fired flavor.
Ingredients: 4 New York strip steaks 1 1/2 inches thick. 2 tablespoons olive oil. 2 teaspoons kosher salt. 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper. 2 teaspoons garlic powder. 2 teaspoons onion powder. 2 teaspoons smoked paprika. Wood pellets for Traeger grill hickory or oak.
Instructions: Warm up the Traeger pellet grill to 450F. Spice up the steaks with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Rub them with olive oil. Put the steaks right on the grill grates and cook them for 6 to 8 minutes on each side for medium-rare or until they're done the way you like them. Take the steaks off the grill and let them rest for five minutes before you serve them.
