And for tips starting out, uhhhhh, not so sure how helpful I can be, I’ve always drawn my whole life (only started drawing people around like 5th grade I think) and I have negative self confidence :p

First thing that comes to mind is don’t rush progress, let your style form on its own. I strongly believe in learning on your own, I really don’t like the videos I see or the mindset/teaching of “drawing the correct way.” Let it be fun and unique.

I have a whole system and order I use to set up each one of my drawings (I could share my process if anyone cares or curious to know), but that’s just me, I like having a system and being organized (to the point of overthinking :p)

Also don’t be afraid to use references or to take inspiration from something!

Wanted to draw more random outfits as usual, cause it’s one of my favorite parts of drawing.

Side-rant below, feel free to ignore:

Started this drawing during summer as a protest against it being 100 outside. But then depression and huge amounts of stress/anxiety said no, and only got around to finishing this now during the appropriate season, welp.

Also was debating if I wanted to even post this cause I’ve seen a bunch of hate around recently, especially on people’s designs. But at the same time, I draw for me, and I post for me, so whatever.

Almost had a breakdown standing in the kitchen cause I couldn’t decide if I wanted to heat up some fettuccine or make a cheese quesadilla.

Just spent soooo much time drawing a background (including a whole bunch of individual tiles), only for the characters to cover up basically all of it

Well today has been a day (really more month than day), I need to go take a sad nap

I cry every time a fic I’m reading suddenly becomes a kidfic without warning.

I wouldn’t have gotten attached to the story and characters if I knew a random kid was going to be added.

Think one of the worst parts of messaging someone first while having horrible social anxiety, is the crushing waves of overthinking thoughts during the wait for the person to respond.
