Just Ask...
In today's society where it is a "dog eat dog" world for the most part, asking for help or even receiving help is something that is either done sparingly or given sparingly. However, it so necessary to have someone in your corner that can help or assist you in some way or another. Help doesn't necessarily have to be about money either. Because believe me, just like most people, when someone says "hey I need a favor..." the first thing that may go through my mind (depending on the person) is "ok how much is this going to cost me? *insert rolling eyes emoji* lol". Its normal too. Because a lot of times we do not hear from people unless they need something.
On another note... sometimes, we wont ask for help because we do not want to feel or seem like a burden to someone else either. This was, and sometimes still is, one of my biggest issues. I don't avoid asking for help because of pride. I usually don't ask for it because of the fear of rejection or because I don't want to inconvenience anyone. I never want anyone to give or do anything for me because they feel obligated. I would much rather the help be offered because its more likely that the person is doing it out of the kindness of their heart. But even that can get tricky lol. I will save that discussion for another time though!
I have learned the hard way that a closed mouth doesn't get fed. And yes... we like to feel like we accomplished all that we accomplished on our own and that we don't owe anyone anything but we all need someone and we need to speak up when we do. I suggest that you find yourself a group of individuals that have the same heart as you so that when you go to them in a time of need, they don't make you feel like a charity case. Also, place yourself around people that can actually add and teach you something so that you can grow. That is one of the biggest forms of help that we can get. As we ask for help, lets help ourselves by placing ourselves in a position where help can be found.
