i just need a customizable website with theme documentation as easy and stupid simple as tumblr’s

i’d host my own portfolio on this hellhole but it seems to be heading towards the sun and crashing there in the future

if i had any faith this deathtrap could long-term be a viable webhost i’d’ve made this my website fuckin years ago

but nooooo

now i gotta fuckin find wordpress/blogger/weebly/squarespace/wix/etc alternatives which have shite html/css/js customization unless you pay an arm and leg a year for it. AND THEN you need to have like a degree in programming, or spent at least double (to triple) the time i have spent learning how to code on my own in my free time for free all my life

like literally i code all of my own themes bc i was like “hm i wonder what thats like”, spent a semester on it bc i was depressed, and now i can make whole ass websites as long as i have a skeleton to work with and a server to host the files

i don’t actually wanna build an entire website java up. like fucking finding a server/webhost and creating the fucking documentation and then adding all the fucking features/widgets i need so people can at least find my email somewhere, much less make it interactive like every website needs to be now

i just wanna make my own gotdamn portfolio with my own gotdamn css code and not like, suffer bc i cant even access the gotdamn html source

(yes this is v much pointed at wordpress. dont use wp good g o d)

anyway if anyone reads this pls @ me for any alternatives that:

like fr, part of what makes wordpress/blogger so difficult is that it’s primarily a blogging platform. shit’s built w the intent that every page is a blog entry and that’s why it’s so difficult for me to use

tumblr may be a blogging platform but i can still make contained custom pages. like completely empty custom pages. no fucking content required it is literally a white page

it’s like comparing a page of an sketchbook to a diary entry. and i need the sketchbook

if i’m not paying a literal $480 a year (fuck you wp) i am happy to listen to anything
