Marcus Marr & Chet Faker || Killing Jar
Got to listen to the new Televisor EP today. A whole month early! It’s spectacular and the daily the best stuff to come from him to date! Doin’ It came out last week, You can also preorder/presave the EP here.
I had to make a mock up of the EP artwork as a cassette too 😍
Chloe Howl doesn’t need money to feel like a ‘Millionaire’ on her latest single...
And I know the whole trap pop thing is kinda saturated at this point, but the airy, sparkling synth work and slight reggae lilt help make this track a memorable one, not to mention Howl’s overall rejection of hyper-consumerism and flashy excess, declaring: ‘You're already the richest and I know for sure/'Cause you got something nobody else can afford/It's rolling in tonight, don't you realise/Right in front of you is a, I told ya...’
The British singer says about the track (via Clash):
‘At the time of writing 'Millionaire', I was listening to US based trap and hip-hop, and wanted to pull in sonic influences from those places. It’s about making someone realise that they already have everything they ever wanted.’
Chloe Howl’s Work EP is out now.

Day one, skies have been raining My eyes are wide, so wide Day two, skin ain’t crawlin’, baby Truth’s so white, so white And this everloving habit, there’s no telling How to start, how to explain Where there’s arrogance there’s absence of the change I wanna change I’m not the same.
The killing jar Swimming in that stuff will get you far
Today’s mood is Killing Jar by Marcus Marr and Chet Faker.
If you live in or have been to my land of Oz over this past summer, you’re probably well-acquainted by now with the awesome Chet Faker/Marcus Marr track ‘The Trouble With Us’ from the duo’s collaborative EP, Work.
Now it’s time to feel the good vibes of their latest track ‘Killing Jar’ and its soft swagger and pondering, earthy lilt of synth loops. The song clocks in at over 7 minutes, which gives you more than enough time to just sit back and let the waves of chill wash over you before the song’s acoustic outro.
The Work EP is out now.

Start your weekend with Chet Faker and Marcus Marr’s ultra smooth new track Birthday Card, lifted from their forthcoming Work EP.
Teaming up with UK DJ Marcus Marr for their new Work EP, the latest single from Chet Faker, ‘The Trouble With Us,’ is described as an ‘intergalactic funk-tinged’ track, which basically does my job for me since I can’t think of a description that can top that. But if I might continue, those sweet guitar licks and bass slaps are pretty infectious, while the chorus shifts into a thumping disco stomp. It’s just plain cool, okay?
‘The Work EP is out December 4 via Faker’s label, Detail Records.
