Week 1 overview
GOAL A: Alternate rest with being kind to myself about where I'm at

Here. We. Go.
Tomorrow is my first day! I’m excited, a little nervous, but mostly pretty calm right now. At this point, I’m learning that there’s no sense in worrying. I ready. I’m ready to get started and be challenged again. I honestly have no idea what to expect. I’m feeling pretty off right now, but I think that’s just because I’m preparing for a week of being apart from the hubby haha. I usually get bummed when we have to spend a few nights apart, but I think I’m in even more of a funky mood because it’s my first week in a brand-new job. But I’ll be okay. He’s coming up tomorrow night, so I’ll see him probably shortly after I get off work. Then, we’ll have the weekend together in our new town and then just 5 days apart. And, I’ll get to hang out with my sister-in-law a bit, so I’m sure that I won’t be too lonely.
Back to work stuff, I really don’t know what to expect. They mentioned it would be their office’s annual training, so I’m anticipating a lot of note-taking. Some things I want to keep in mind for my first impressions: 1) walk in with shoulders back and a smile on my face. Exude confidence and if I have no idea what I’m doing, fake it till I make it. 2) Wake up at 6 to get 10 mins of cardio in. I feel like I will be much more relaxed and just feel better about myself if I do some cardio as soon as I get up. With my new apartment building, there’s a small gym with a few machines to get some cardio in. Also, getting up at 6 will give me plenty of time so I can relax and take my time. 3) Shower and shave. No need to elaborate on that one. 4) Eat a filling breakfast. 5) Meditate. Take a few minutes to meditate and be centered for the beginning of the day. 6) Be like a sponge. These first few weeks, I want to soak everything in and learn as much as possible. I have a “fraud” feeling, where I’m afraid that they might think I’m a fraud and not know what I’m doing. But any time I start worrying, I just say, “what’s the worst that can happen?” I embarrass myself? I make a mistake? Okay, we can handle that.
I’m soaking in this night because it’s the last night before I start this new chapter. Tomorrow, I’ll be an accountant and I’ll take the first steps in my career. I want to soak in the fear and worry because I want to remember this feeling. It’s slightly invigorating. Tomorrow reality might hit me, but tonight, I can enjoy the unknown.
