So sorry that this is really late, but the Chocobois™ and I hope your summer was good with this postcard, @courtingkaleidoscopes !!
;;hallo everyone!! I -- uh -- haven't been around recently and that's bc I broke my leg at work. I had surgery last month and have basically been bedridden for the past month or so. Just got my stitches out yesterday but I am still non weight-bearing for the next 6 weeks ( minimum )
STILL ALIVE!!!!!!

@shinyhappymurdersongs that’s what I was thinking

theoretically in a perfect world any character could be useless because some people are. In reality (as it pertains to fiction of course) it's very risky to make a female character useless because of the pervasiveness of the trope--maybe if a male character were also useless
I’m trying to remember, but I don’t think there is any male character that is equally useless, or should I say doesn’t help the plot move along?
I mean, one of the weakest characters (in terms of strength) is a male and one of the strongest is a female. But that doesn’t matter because both are interesting in other ways. They have compelling characters.
But this one female character just isn’t interesting in any way. I guess I could say that there is one male character that is just as bland as her-and that’s the male Main Protagonists. But that’s because his story is tied up in hers. If you took away her, the plot could move forward and I would think he’s more interesting without her.
