“Decided on something?” Elodie, that was her name. This was the second time she’d found herself in the shop but Ruby continued to see her in passing every once in a while. Or playing piano at Fitzgerald’s. She wanted to say something just about every time she saw her in the place, but found herself distracted by the contrast of inked hands moving across ivory keys. Embarrassment still kept her at bay, their first real speaking encounter made her worry she was just going to keep fawning over the artwork on her body. Regardless, she greeted the other blonde with a smile from where she sat at the reception desk, her attention immediately snapping to her from Spotify on the computer. @allglasseverything

Lucian couldn’t remember the last time he’d set foot in a bar by himself without feeling exhausted either physically or mentally. The ‘No Sleep Tour’ felt over with everything going on. He kept reminding himself that he was stupid, but he wasn’t that stupid, to be running around at all hours of the night alone. As usual, it was ironic that he found solace in a bar full of vampires, but the place felt safer than anywhere else. There was security here, literally and figuratively. At this point he doubted any of the Bordeaux’s would let anything happen to him. Just the idea of Mallory’s disappointment had stopped Rowan and that was her brother, he couldn’t imagine any other vampire would piss her off.

Sitting at the bar, he drummed his fingers against the bar as he contemplated if the usual Scotch was pushing it while he was alone, even if he only had one glass, he didn’t want to tempt himself to go any further than one drink. Red wine felt stereotypical, he was sure everyone in here felt the same way. He settled on “anything with bourbon” and once the glass was in his hand, he was surveying the place, taking inventory on patrons, intent on people watching for a bit before retreating to go smoke. @bcdvampire

donna gets lots of people ( read, gross men ) hitting on them mostly because they’re wicked hot and look like a woman, but also because . they kind of have Temptress Eyes as just like . part of their anatomy. they generally gaze at everybody like ‘come to bed with me ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)’ as their resting expression, even if they have no intentions of inviting you to bed whatsoever. that sends lots of . Wrong Messages to people ( read, gross men ) as you might imagine. here’s an example.

morgawse needs to be The Mother and A Leader, but the difference is that she needs to be The Mother and A Leader. she Has To be the Caregiver, but i don’t think morgawse has to be the Absolute Leader in whatever she does. it helps, but it isn’t a need, per se. she needs both roles, because leader = / = caregiver.

see morgawse is definitely one of the leaders of the avalon maidens in between two lungs, but she’s the leader in the way that an eldest sibling is an unoffical leader. how an eldest sibling leads or parents their younger when their parents are around to help them out, and / or when they aren’t to help  keep younger siblings of trouble etc.

don’t get me wrong, she’s still definitely The Mom and the Fixer-Upper, the maidens are her brood ; but even she has their Unseen Producer and Sometimes Seen choreographer to defer to. she’s not quite the Unsung Leader, but she’s one. she has Charges to look after and a certain degree of seniority and power being a founding member of between two lungs and having quite a lot of experience– dancing and lifewise, so it’s a comfortable dynamic for her.

so on this Fine Friday Eve, ive found margot either lacks empathy, or it at least fluctuates in her.

the best example of this is when she's working. particularly when she's teaching. now, margot's romantic literature classes are . advanced. or they at least aren't for beginners. you probably can't take them if you're a freshman. im not sure if that's actually listed anywhere or not, but it's probably unspoken. the reason for this is that margot is a fantastic lecturer and teacher overall, her classes are funny and engaging anf you'll learn a lot, but she's not that good at one-on-one teaching. why? because she probably doesn't have the ability to ~Put Herself In An Inexperienced Students Shoes~ and explain things over and over. because romantic literature was something she understood very quickly, and people go into her class knowing this isn't for beginners ( hopefully ) so you should be getting it too wtf?

she's crap at answering questions about specifics in her teaching for this reason. if you email her and be like 'hey dr huxley can you elaborate on x?' she'll probably explain it to you as best she can and you just gotta hope that first explanation cleared it up because she'll probably reword what she's just said or ignore ya email if you still don't get it. your best bet overall is to ask somebody else in the class who understands rather than asking her.

she's a shit mentor as well, because she probably lacks the overarching basic degree of empathy needed to mentor other people. overall, she doesn't really have the patience or empathy to explain things to people who don't already know what they're doing and only need a little bit cleared up.

basically if you've taken lit history classes before or done ap classes in highschool if you're a freshman, you shld b fine. otherwise her classes may be challenging for some.

she also really doesn't want to take on a ta because she doesn't want to explain How She Does Things to someone who doesn't already know. if you want to ta for margot you gotta have experience or be a fast learner.

i knew morgawse had other traumas and she finally came forward and told me.

morgawse is very old and also orcadian, which means she was around when the vikings invaded and annexed the orkney islands.

her own castle that she was living in with other noblemaidens at the time, was forcibly annexed as well and the other maidens were kidnapped which was. Deeply Traumatising as you might imagine. she didn't stop them because she was outnumbered and the vikings were bigger and stronger than her and her other maidens.
