My Work Rate Criticism Is Unfair - Daniel Sturridge
My Work Rate Criticism Is Unfair – Daniel Sturridge
Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has hit out at critics of his work rate, insisting he has a responsibility to score and create goals. Sturridge has found himself marginalised at Liverpool, first due to a series of injuries and now with Roberto Firmino preferred in the striker’s role within Jurgen Klopp’s tactical plans. Paul and mary can do a job in 2 hour. When paul works alone, he can do 5 jobs in 15 hours. How many jobs can Mary do in 12 hours alone?
Again, this is not a realistic SAT question. You’re really spending way too much time worrying about work rate questions (assuming you’re one person who keeps submitting these all from the same book, and this isn’t a coincidence where a bunch of different people suddenly started sending me a bunch of work rate questions).
If Paul can do 5 jobs in 15 hours, then he can do 1 job in 3 hours, or 1/3 jobs per hour.
When Paul works with Mary, they get the job done in 2 hours. Because Paul works at a rate of 1/3 jobs per hour, we know he gets 2/3 of the job done in 2 hours. That means Mary must get 1/3 of the job done in 2 hours. Mary therefore works at a rate of 1/6 jobs per hour.
Working alone, then, Mary gets 1 job done every 6 hours. In 12 hours, that’ll be 2 jobs.
