In 2023, during the third year of my Bachelor of Screen Arts degree at Massey University, I worked on a game project called 'Work Strike' with the games Creative Lead and Programmer Eden Lawless (or Rad Chad as he's known on YouTube) as the games Producer and Co-Writter.
Work Strike is a 2D fighting game set in Babylon Towers, an infinitely expanding eldritch entity of a morally corrupt company, where you play as a variety of workers/residents from the company, ranging from IT and maintenance workers, to samurai accountants, to a sentient vending machine with nothing but hate in it's heart.
I did the producing work for this project (managing the teams' schedules. paperwork, etc.) and helped with the character bios. These were shown off at the 2023 NZ Game Developers Conference, along with a demo of the game. Some of these were posted to an Instagram and Tumblr I made for the game.
Linked below is a video Eden made on the game, going into his inspiration for the game and his design choices when it came to game design.

I'm not great at descriptions but I'll try to summerise the tiktok
Basically,on October 15th,there is a work strike plan, the goals being:
-20$ minimum wage
-12 weeks maternity leave
-Healthcare
-4 day work day
-environmental regulation (exemple,to stop the water from being on fire)
-25% corporate tax
This is mostly aimed at the USA,so if you are able to do not go to work on October 15th.
If a lot of people do it, it'll be a pretty hefty blow against corporate America and will show your solidarity against it.
Please reblog this or spread the word through other means
Bus Strike Update
Ok so the bus Strike went on for four days on the Thursday they had an all day negotiating session and came out with a contract that both parties agreed upon. Now the contract still has to be read and voted on by the union members but the drivers said they would resume services until the vote.
Even though there was some giving on both side I hope it was something the union members can live with…
