As I walked into the tattoo shop to start my day for work, my boss immediately stopped me causing me to sigh and attempt to hold myself back from rolling my eyes in his face. “What happened yesterday and Monday? I don’t remember giving you two days off of work this week.” The annoyance on my face was clearly evident but seeing as how I needed this job, I kept myself from saying anything that might get me fired. “Look, I slept in. I ain’t feel like coming in yesterday or the day before. I’m here now though, no big deal.” That instantly caused him to give me a look as he folded his arms across his chest. “Yes, it is a big deal. I had to call in some people who actually had the day off at the last minute to fill in for you. So now, you’re filling in for them. You’re working on Saturday and Sunday.” By this point, I was clearly fuming. The weekends were the only time I actually had off to relax and do whatever I wanted. This nigga was clearly overreacting just because I missed two little days. “But that’s the weekend, you can’t—“ He instantly held his hand up to stop me from speaking. “No buts. One more complaint from you and ima have to let you go. You may be a good artist Donovan but there’s a lot of other people who are just as good and actually will show up for work.” And with that, he walked off to the back causing me to let out an angry breath that I didn’t even know I was holding in and going to set up my station for the day, checking my book to see who was scheduled to get tatted by me today.
Don takes his broke ass to work again a bit earlier today so that he could make it back in time for Silas’ party, bringing the same supplies he had to bring yesterday but also taking some snacks this time.
