Doing that spring thing again
What is it about spring that makes me start new things? My Facebook memories for all of April were consistent reminders of Past Ellie’s undying optimism that THIS YEAR will be THE YEAR. New stories, new work, new websites, new business plans. You’d think that would’ve dried up after the reality of having a kid, but you’d be wrong.
And this spring is no different.
Well, maybe slightly different.
I feel the stir of the season probably the strongest I ever have, but this year I didn’t foolhardily announce my GRAND PLANS for overhauling my life and my business (such as it is). No big announcements, despite how much I love doing those, no promises that my track record shows I can only keep until June. Just a lot of quiet contemplation, sneaky advice-seeking social media posts, and gaining ground by inches in the rare quiet time afforded by the everydayness of being a SAHM in her mid-30s.
Stuff has been said and done that can’t be taken back. Changed, maybe, but not undone.
There are GRAND PLANS happening. Quietly. Slowly. Curiously. Micro-steps.
