The Wheeling, West Virginia artist writes, “My central question is: ‘What is enough?’ It is meaningful to me to create something pleasing with as few elements as possible. Many artists comment that they don’t know when to stop. For me, that is no problem. It’s satisfying also, to repurpose and reuse. “I look for or seek out collage everywhere; often I find myself ‘cutting’ in my mind something I see in the street and imagining it mixed with other images,” writes Tom Amoretti. “By nature and nurture a hoarder, I mainly use old and new magazines and books, also sometimes found objects. My collages are all analog/hand made; never computer, photocopies or scans as I like the limitation provided by just working with found materials.” The London-based artist's Cut Out Page appears in the World Collage Day 2020 Special Edition from Kolaj Magazine.

Embracing this has become a big part of my practice. A class at a community art centre revealed, in Diane Cameron from Ogden, Quebec, Canada, a passion for colour, shapes, lines and patterns that courses through her work. Her practice is a labour of pleasure. “The way I learned to create collage was to rip paper and place the pieces to form abstract, unrecognizable shapes,” writes the artist. “I like the soft edges ripped paper creates and I’m interested in saying something with colours and shapes.” Her Cut Out Page appears in the World Collage Day 2020 Special Edition from Kolaj Magazine.
