A Revelation

Revelation 21: 1-2

 1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. 2 And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

I have always been fascinated by weddings. There is something breathtaking when I think about the bride walking down the aisle, looking almost like a fairy tale princess with her long flowing gown adorned with a smile that is beyond words to describe, and her dashing prince waiting, his eyes filled with love and eager anticipation to finally be with the one he loves and live happily ever after. 

Yes, I admit, I am a hopeless romantic. It is wired within me, as this idea of marriage is a God-given desire, after all He is the  greatest romantic of all. Can't you see it in the sunsets and the falling leaves of a tree? Can't you feel it as you watch the stars glimmer the night sky? What inspires the poets and singers? This is not just about being cheesy and the mushy feelings, it is a real longing wired deep within you and me, to be loved pursued and finally, to be joined as one with the one you have given your heart to. It is a reflection of His heart, and He is not just another hopeless romantic as I claim myself to be, for in Him romance can be revisited, allow Him and he will reveal it to you, its a romance like no other.
