These long days of riding, with this beast of a bike and my moto gear, seem like nothing. In the 10 days it took me to ride to Alaska and back, i covered an average of 700km per day. That's 7000km (5500mi). 5000 of these km, I rode with a leaking rear shock. This shock survived abuse and extra load for 130000km before giving up completely (today RIP). What a marvel of engineering is this machine. Throwback to 3 years ago, when i arrived back to my beautiful town called Bronte, after a full loop of Australia and pretty much 8 months of riding. It was my first solo motorcycle trip. It was my very first adventure riding experience. I was scared at the beginning...but indeed so happy at the end of it! . So yeah, that's why my motorcycle is called "Bronte". I wanted it to have a name that reminded me of an happy place, a beautiful place, somewhere i felt at home and where i had good friends waiting for me. I wanted to bring this thought with me, all along my trip, to protect me, to make me feel safe and to remind me that i always had Bronte to go back to, if things went sideways. It's also a female name, but rare enough that didn't remind me any of my exes 😉. On top of that, It's a greek word that means "the sound of thunder", and if you heard my bike revving, you can probably agree that it's a good call. So, perfect choice i would say! . After my australian loop, my motorcycle had 38000 km on the clock; it now has 100000km more on it. . It took me 2 years to ride from south to north America. I rode for 80000km. It's twice the circumference of our planet. But, believe it or not, i'm only halfway into my journey. . People travel for different reasons. Every one of us has its own. My path is unique, even if others have walked it before me. I'm riding my own wave, the way i want to ride it and all by myself. I gave up everything. I'm a new person every day. I AM FREE. . It may look like one of those speeches that you see at "The Oscars", but i do need to give back some of this love i've received for so long, so allow me to do this... . I need to say THANKS, first of all, to my special companion Bronte. My beautiful and strong motorcycle, with whom i truly created a special bond, during the past years (yes i refer to her as a person). This motorcycle is more than just a motorcycle now. Her story is incredible. She is special. And together we have seen some of the most wonderful places in the world. So thanks @ktm_official for creating the perfect machine for me. . I have to thank my family, that always supported me for whatever crazy decision i decided to embrace in my life. You guys are my pillars and my inspiration. Doesn't matter where i am in the world, i always bring you with me. . I want to thank the @giantloopmoto team for being seriously true legends and for trusting me since day one. Thanks also to the @daineseofficial and @agvhelmets teams, which have been protecting me, straight from my homeland. Thanks to @barkbustershandguards and @teamhippohands for saving my hands multiple times from injuries and cold temperatures. .
