Wren ᴛʜᴇ ʙʀᴏᴛʜᴇʀꜱ sister.
Coming back to this godforsaken house was the biggest mistake of my life. Every corner, every room, it's all tainted with memories that claw at my soul. And seeing Niko, that bastard just brings it all rushing back. The pain, the longing, the regret. It's suffocating.
But of course, Nye, that oblivious idiot brother of mine didn’t understand. He thought Niko's anger was just a phase, a tantrum like when we were younger but I had a feeling it was more than that. I loved Niko with every fibre of my being, and i carelessly watched as he stood there, seething with rage, while his siblings tore apart what little is left of our shattered lives. It's like a knife to the heart.
This place used to be my sanctuary, my refuge. But now, it's nothing but a haunting reminder of what once was. Nye tried to comfort me, saying Niko will come back after his little fit. But deep down, I know it's not that simple. Nothing ever is.
Now, here I am, two days later, the wreckage cleaned up, but the scars still fresh, lying in bed, hungover and lost, with no idea where we're supposed to go from here. It's all a fucking mess.
And who do I have to blame for all of this? Mother. That wretched woman, who tore our family apart and left us to pick up the pieces. I can't help but groan in frustration, throwing the covers off, not ready to face the reality of this house.
Niko hasn't returned, as far as I knew and Nye, that spineless fool, fucked off and said he was going to a bar “To let off some steam” I understood that as he needed to fuck the anger out of him.
Whatever.
The pictures that had hung on the walls, remnants of our past, sent shivers down my spine as I pass by them. They're like ghosts, haunting me at every turn.
The silence in this house is deafening. All I can hear is the creaking and shifting of the old walls, a constant reminder of the emptiness that surrounds me. I drag myself to the kitchen, hoping to find some solace in a cup of coffee. But of course, the grounds are on a shelf too high for me to reach. Fucking boys and their damn height.
With a frustrated huff, I pull a chair from the table, the sound of its wooden legs scraping against the hardwood echoing through the empty house. I place it against the counter, a symbol of my defeat and desperation. This house, although rebuilt, this life, is all falling apart, and I have no clue how to fix it.
This house, although rebuilt, unlike this life, is all falling apart, and I have no clue how to fix it.
Crawls up onto the chair grabbing the coffee almost falling on my ass hearing a low growl. Niko was leaning against the door frame eyes wild and a disheveled filthy mess.
What. The. Hell.
I gave Niko a small smile and wave, placing the bag of coffee on the counter, sighs looking him over.
“You’re a mess. What have you been up to? Nothing good, apparently.
